Then the Spirit came on Amasai, chief of the Thirty, and he said:“ We are yours, David! We are with you, son of Jesse! Success, success to you, and success to those who help you, for your God will help you.” So David received them and made them leaders of his raiding bands.

The Spirit of God came on Amasai. He was leader of the 30 chiefs. He said,“ David, we belong to you! Son of Jesse, we’re on your side! May you have great success. May those who help you also have success. Your God will help you.” So David welcomed them. He made them leaders in his army.

Then the Spirit clothed Amasai, chief of the thirty, and he said,“ We are yours, O David, and with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” Then David received them and made them officers of his troops.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, the leader of the Thirty, and he said,“ We are yours, David! We are on your side, son of Jesse. Peace and prosperity be with you, and success to all who help you, for your God is the one who helps you.” So David let them join him, and he made them officers over his troops.

Then the Spirit enveloped Amasai, chief of the Thirty, and he said: We are yours, David, we are with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you, for your God helps you. So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

Then the Spirit covered Amasai like clothing, the chief of the thirty; and he said,“ We are yours, David, And are with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, And peace to him who helps you; Indeed, your God helps you!” Then David received them and made them captains of the troops.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the captains, and he said:“ We are yours, O David; We are on your side, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, And peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” So David received them, and made them captains of the troop.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thy helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

Then the Spirit took control of Amasai, chief of the Thirty, and he said: We are yours, David, we are with you, son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to him who helps you, for your God helps you. So David received them and made them leaders of his troops.

Then the spirit came upon Amasai,[ who was] chief of the captains,[ and he said], Thine[ are we], David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace[ be] unto thee, and peace[ be] to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

But a spirit empowered Amasai, the leader of the thirty warriors, and he said:“ We are yours, O David! We support you, O son of Jesse! May you greatly prosper! May those who help you prosper! Indeed your God helps you!” So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.

Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said,“ We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse. Peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. (niv)

Take your master’s men and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and escape from us.”So Joab’s men and the Kerethites and Pelethites and all the mighty warriors went out under the command of Abishai. They marched out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba son of Bikri.While they were at the great rock in Gibeon, Amasa came to meet them. Joab was wearing his military tunic, and strapped over it at his waist was a belt with a dagger in its sheath. As he stepped forward, it dropped out of its sheath. (niv)

This is what the Lord Almighty says:“ In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say,‘ Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’” (niv)

Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. (niv)

But Solomon did not make slaves of any of the Israelites; they were his fighting men, his government officials, his officers, his captains, and the commanders of his chariots and charioteers. (niv)

“ Please forgive your servant’s presumption. In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’” (niv)

He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. (niv)
