皆係武士、能守行伍、忠乃心、至希伯崙、欲立大闢為王、治以色列族、斯土餘民、亦同此心、

All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king.

大卫出去迎接他们，回答他们说：“你们若和平地来帮助我，我的心就与你们契合；但你们若把我这双手无辜的人卖给敌人，愿我们列祖的神察看责罚。”那时军官的领袖亚玛撒受灵的感动说：“大卫啊，我们归向你！耶西的儿子啊，我们帮助你！愿你平平安安，愿帮助你的也都平安！因为你的神帮助你。”大卫就收留他们，派他们作军官。

你在圣山上掌权的日子，你的子民必甘心跟随；从晨曦初现，你就有清晨的甘露。

西布伦中，能上阵用各样作战的兵器、不生二心帮助打仗的有五万人。

以色列众支派来到希伯仑见大卫，说：“看哪，我们是你的骨肉。从前扫罗作我们王的时候，率领以色列人出入的是你。耶和华也曾对你说：‘你必牧养我的百姓以色列，你必作以色列的君王。’”于是以色列的众长老都来到希伯仑见王。大卫在希伯仑，在耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏大卫作以色列的王。

犹大啊，你的兄弟必赞美你，你的手必掐住仇敌的颈项，你父亲的儿子要向你下拜。犹大是只小狮子；我儿啊，你捕获了猎物就上去。他蹲伏，他躺卧，如公狮，又如母狮，谁敢惹他呢？权杖必不离犹大，统治者的杖必不离他两脚之间，直等细罗来到，万民都要归顺他。

“耶和华啊，求你记念我在你面前怎样存完全的心，按诚实行事，又做你眼中看为善的事。”希西家就痛哭。

我要使他们有合一的心，也要将新灵放在你们里面，又从他们的肉体中除掉石心，赐给他们肉心，

所罗门年老的时候，他的妻妾诱惑他的心去随从别神，不像他父亲大卫以纯正的心顺服耶和华—他的神。

神也按手在犹大人身上，使他们一心遵行王与众领袖照着耶和华的话所发的命令。
