He did not take the ark to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

With them were their relatives second in rank: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel.

So he was not willing to move the ark of the Lord to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.The ark of the Lord remained in his house three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and his whole family.

All of these were among the sons of Obed-edom with their sons and brothers; they were capable men with strength for the work— 62 from Obed-edom.

and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and still live there as foreigners to this very day.

Asaph was the chief and Zechariah was second to him. Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel played the harps and lyres, while Asaph sounded the cymbals
