As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David leaping and dancing, and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of the LORD’s covenant entered the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked out the window. When she saw King David jumping and celebrating, she despised him.

As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

大衛回去要祝福自己的家人時，掃羅的女兒米甲出來迎接大衛，她說：「今天以色列王多麼光彩啊！竟然在臣僕們的婢女眼前露體，如同一個下賤人赤身露體。」大衛對米甲說：「我這是在耶和華面前做的，是他揀選了我，勝過揀選你父親和他全家，任命我作耶和華子民以色列的領袖，所以我要在耶和華面前歡慶。我還要比這更顯為輕賤，自視卑微；至於你提到的那些婢女，她們卻會尊重我。」掃羅的女兒米甲，直到死的日子都沒有孩子。

當耶和華的約櫃進入大衛城時，掃羅的女兒米甲透過窗戶俯看，看見大衛王在耶和華面前踴躍跳舞，心裡就藐視他。

裡面有金香壇和四周包金的約櫃；櫃裡有盛著嗎哪的金罐、亞倫那根發過芽的杖和兩塊約版；

大衛說：「好，我與你立約。只是我請求你一件事：你來見我的時候，要先把掃羅的女兒米甲帶來，否則不得見我的面。」隨後大衛派使者去見掃羅的兒子伊施波設，說：「請把我的妻子米甲還給我，她是我用一百個非利士人的包皮聘娶的。」

掃羅派人到大衛家去監視他，要在清晨殺他。大衛的妻子米甲警告大衛說：「你今夜如果不逃命，明天就會被殺死。」米甲從窗口把大衛縋下去，大衛就離開那裡，逃走脫身了。米甲取來家族神像，放在床上，在頭部放了山羊毛料，然後用衣服蓋住神像。掃羅派人去捉拿大衛時，米甲說：「他生病了。」掃羅又派人去查看大衛，說：「你們把他連床一起抬到我這裡來，我好殺他。」派來的人到達後，看哪，有個家族神像在床上，頭部放著山羊毛料。掃羅問米甲：「你為什麼這樣欺騙我，放走我的仇敵，讓他逃脫呢？」米甲回答掃羅：「他對我說：『放我走！我何必殺你呢？』」

那時，掃羅已經把他的女兒米甲，就是大衛的妻子，嫁給了迦琳人拉億的兒子帕提。

不過一個屬血氣的人不接受屬神的靈的這些事，因為對他來說，這些是愚拙的；他也不能明白，因為這些事要用屬靈的方式才能洞察。

大衛就動身，帶著他的部下去擊殺了兩百個非利士人。大衛把他們的包皮帶來，滿數交給王，為要作王的女婿。於是掃羅把他的女兒米甲給大衛為妻。掃羅看見並知道耶和華與大衛同在，而且自己的女兒米甲也愛大衛，

要用鈴鼓和跳舞讚美他，用絲弦和笛子讚美他！

哭泣有時，歡笑有時；哀哭有時，歡躍有時；

因為我為你的緣故承擔辱罵，羞愧遮蓋了我的臉。我的弟兄們把我當作外族人，我母親的兒女把我當作外人。然而我為你的殿，心火焚燒；辱罵你之人的辱罵都落在我身上。

軍隊回到營地中，以色列的長老們說：「為什麼今天耶和華讓我們敗在非利士人面前呢？我們把耶和華的約櫃從示羅帶到我們這裡吧，讓約櫃來到我們當中，拯救我們脫離仇敵的手！」

願他們用跳舞讚美他的名，用鈴鼓和豎琴歌頌他！

因為我們如果癲狂，是為了神；如果清醒，是為了你們。

可是另有些人嘲笑說：「他們被新酒灌醉了！」

你已將我的哀哭變為跳舞，你已脫去我的麻衣，為我披上喜樂，
