I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.

I will be his father. And he will be my son. I took my love away from the man who ruled before you. But I will never take my love away from your son.

I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. I will not take my steadfast love from him, as I took it from him who was before you,

從前神到底對哪一位天使說過「你是我的兒子，我今天生了你」，又說「我將成為他的父親，他成為我的兒子」呢？

你們要側耳聽，來到我這裡；你們要聽，就得以存活。我必與你們立永遠的約，就是給大衛的信實慈愛的約。

撒母耳就對他說：「耶和華今天從你身上撕去了以色列的王權，賜給了你的鄰人，他比你好。

我要宣講耶和華的諭旨：他對我說：「你是我的兒子，我今日生了你。

當親吻他的兒子，否則他一發怒，你們就在所行的路上滅亡，因為他的怒火片刻間就會燃起！所有投靠他的人是多麼蒙福啊！

「我將要做你們的父親，你們將要做我的兒女。這是主、全能者說的。」

他將呼求我：『你是我的父、我的神，是我救恩的磐石。』我還要立他作長子，作地上君王中的至高者。我要向他持守我的慈愛，直到永遠；我與他所立的約也必堅定。我要堅立他的後裔，直到永遠；使他的寶座如天之久。如果他的子孫離棄我的律法，不照著我的法規而行；如果他們褻瀆我的律例，不遵守我的誡命；我就要用杖懲罰他們的過犯，用鞭懲罰他們的罪孽。然而，我不會從他身上收回我的慈愛，也不會背棄我的信實。我不會違背我的約，也不會改變我口中所出的話。我曾指著我的聖潔起過一次誓，我絕不對大衛說謊。他的後裔將長存，直到永遠；他的寶座在我面前如同太陽，又如月亮永遠確立，像是天上確實的見證。」細拉

我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子。當他行事扭曲，我要用人的杖、用世人的鞭來懲戒他；我的慈愛卻不會離開他，像離開在你面前所廢除的掃羅那樣。你的家和你的國必在我面前永遠堅固，你的王位必永遠堅立。』」

父愛子，把一切都交在他手裡了。

有聲音從雲中傳來，說：「這是我的兒子，我所揀選的。你們當聽從他！」

他將要為大，被稱為至高者的兒子；主、神要把他先祖大衛的王位賜給他。
