“ Go to David My servant and say,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build Me a house to dwell in.

往告我僕大衛曰、耶和華云、爾勿建室、為我居所、

往告我僕大闢、耶和華有言曰、爾勿建殿、為我居處。

爾往諭我僕大衛曰、主云、爾勿建殿、為我居處、

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and speak to my servant David. Tell him,‘ The Lord says,“ You are not the one who will build me a house to live in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord: It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in.

“ Go to David my servant and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell David My servant,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;

“ Go and tell My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You shall not build Me a house to dwell in.

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:

“ Go, tell my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ You must not build me a house in which to live.

“ Go and tell David my servant,‘ Yahweh says,“ You shall not build me a house to dwell in;

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. It was in my heart to build a house as a resting place for the ark of the Lord’s covenant and as a footstool for our God. I had made preparations to build,but God said to me,‘ You are not to build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?

“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration.“ For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

But that night the word of the Lord came to Nathan:“ Go to My servant David and say,‘ This is what the Lord says: Are you to build a house for Me to live in?

However, Yahweh said to my father David,“ Since it was your desire to build a temple for My name, you have done well to have this desire.Yet, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own offspring, will build the temple for My name.”

Yet you are not the one to build it; instead, your son, your own offspring, will build it for My name.”

“ My son,” David said to Solomon,“ It was in my heart to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God,but the word of the Lord came to me:‘ You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before Me.
