上帝之僕至、告以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之上帝、非平原之上帝、故我必以此實繁有徒、付於爾手、使爾知我乃耶和華。相對建營、歷至七日、然後交戰、是日以色列族殺亞蘭人、步卒十萬。其餘遁於亞弗、入城、城垣傾圮、壓斃二萬七千人便哈達遁逃入城、匿於室中。

方伯之僕自城出、軍旅從其後、各殺一敵、亞蘭人敗北、以色列族追之、亞蘭王便哈達乘馬、與騎兵偕遁。以色列王出、擊其車騎、大戮厥眾。

以色列族之上帝耶和華、以以色列國賜大闢、爰及子孫、著為永例不易之約、爾所當知。乃大闢子所羅門僕、尼八子耶羅破暗、叛其主、率遊蕩不逞之徒、乘所羅門子羅波暗新踐國祚、不能禦敵、植黨自強、攻擊其主。今爾有眾、奉耶羅破暗所作金犢、尊為上帝、意謂能拒耶和華所賜大闢子孫之國、爾曾棄耶和華祭司、亞倫後裔、及利未人、擅立諸祭司、循異邦之例、無論何人、攜犢一、牡綿羊七、欲為非上帝之祭司、爾則立之。我儕不棄我之上帝耶和華、所奉耶和華之祭司、俱亞倫子孫、利未人亦供役事。每值朝夕獻燔、及芬芳之品、陳設之餅、置諸潔几、有金燈臺、竟夕常明、以役事我上帝耶和華、永不遺棄、上帝祐我、為我主宰、祭司吹角、其聲宏遠、以色列族歟、勿與爾列祖之上帝耶和華戰、必不得勝。耶羅破暗伏兵於後、環而攻之、於是以色列人在前、伏兵在後。猶大人回顧、見前後受攻、則籲耶和華祭司吹角。猶太人號呼時、上帝擊耶羅破暗、與以色列族眾、為亞庇雅猶大人所敗。以色列族遁逃、上帝付之與猶大人手。

爾之有能者、為我耶和華所驅、不能禦敵、俱遭淹沒。群眾傾覆、自相蹂躪、曰、莫若旋師返國、不遭強者殺戮、

有先知覲以色列王亞哈曰、耶和華云、此實繁有徒者、爾見之乎、今日我必付於爾手、使爾知我乃耶和華。
