有八十個人從示劍、示羅和撒瑪利亞前來，鬍鬚剃去，衣服撕裂，身體割破，手裡拿著素祭和乳香，要帶到耶和華的殿裡去。

不可剃兩邊的頭髮，鬍鬚的周圍也不可刮掉。

於是哈嫩拿住大衛的臣僕，把他們的鬍鬚剃去一半，又把他們的外袍割去半截，露出臀部，然後才放他們走。有人告訴大衛，他就派人去迎接他們，因為他們非常羞恥。王就說：“你們可以住在耶利哥，等到你們的鬍鬚長長了才回來。”

園主再派另外一個僕人到他們那裡，他們打傷了他的頭，並且侮辱他。

你要拿石磨去磨麵，你要揭開你的帕子，脫去長裙，露出大腿，渡過江河。你的下體必暴露出來，你的羞恥要被人看見；我必報仇，不顧惜任何人。
