疏割人的首领回答说：“西巴和撒慕拿已经在你手里，你使我们将饼给你的军兵吗？”基甸说：“耶和华将西巴和撒慕拿交在我手之后，我就用野地的荆条和枳棘打伤你们。”

你的手要搜出你的一切仇敌；你的右手要搜出那些恨你的人。你发怒的时候，要使他们如在炎热的火炉中。耶和华要在他的震怒中吞灭他们；那火要把他们烧尽了。

现在你们是被咒诅的！你们中间的人必断不了作奴仆，为我神的殿作劈柴挑水的人。”
