大卫说：“我实在为难！不过我宁愿落在耶和华的手中，也不愿落在人的手中，因为耶和华有无限的怜悯。”

大卫对迦得说：“我十分作难，我情愿落在耶和华的手里，因为他有极丰盛的怜悯，我不愿落在人的手里。”

大衛謂迦得曰、我處窘迫之境、耶和華矜恤維大、願陷於其手、勿陷於人手、

大闢曰、我迫阨甚矣。耶和華矜憫為懷、願陷於其手、勿陷於人手。

大衛謂迦得曰、我窘迫已極、或作我甚愁戚我願陷於主手、因主大施憐憫、不願陷於人手、

David said to Gad,“ I am in deep distress. Let me fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”

David said to Gad,“ I’m suffering terribly. Let me fall into the hands of the Lord. His mercy is very great. But don’t let me fall into human hands.”

Then David said to Gad,“ I am in great distress. Let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for his mercy is very great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”

“ I’m in a desperate situation!” David replied to Gad.“ But let me fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is very great. Do not let me fall into human hands.”

David answered Gad,“ I’m in anguish. Please, let me fall into the LORD’s hands because his mercies are very great, but don’t let me fall into human hands.”

David said to Gad,“ I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into human hands.”

And David said to Gad,“ I am in great distress. Please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.”

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall, I pray, into the hand of Jehovah; for very great are his mercies: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

David answered Gad,“ I’m in anguish. Please, let me fall into the Lord’s hands because His mercies are very great, but don’t let me fall into human hands.”

And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great[ are] his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

David said to Gad,“ I am very upset! I prefer to be attacked by the LORD, for his mercy is very great; I do not want to be attacked by men!”

David said to Gad,“ I am in distress. Let me fall, I pray, into Yahweh’s hand; for his mercies are very great. Don’t let me fall into man’s hand.”

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. (niv)

Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. (niv)

I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; (niv)

It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (niv)

I was angry with my people and desecrated my inheritance; I gave them into your hand, and you showed them no mercy. Even on the aged you laid a very heavy yoke. (niv)

But a prophet of the Lord named Oded was there, and he went out to meet the army when it returned to Samaria. He said to them,“ Because the Lord, the God of your ancestors, was angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand. But you have slaughtered them in a rage that reaches to heaven. (niv)

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us— yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses. (niv)

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. (niv)

He prayed to the Lord,“ Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. (niv)

Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” (niv)

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. (niv)

Look down from heaven and see, from your lofty throne, holy and glorious. Where are your zeal and your might? Your tenderness and compassion are withheld from us. (niv)

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. (niv)
