Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. All these structures, from the outside to the great courtyard and from foundation to eaves, were made of blocks of high- grade stone cut to size and smoothed on their inner and outer faces.The foundations were laid with large stones of good quality, some measuring ten cubits and some eight.Above were high-grade stones, cut to size, and cedar beams.The great courtyard was surrounded by a wall of three courses of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams, as was the inner courtyard of the temple of the Lord with its portico.
