I solemnly command you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus and the highest angels to obey these instructions without taking sides or showing favoritism to anyone.

I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom:

The Lord replied,“ Take Joshua son of Nun, who has the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.Present him to Eleazar the priest before the whole community, and publicly commission him to lead the people.

until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit.

“ And now I know that none of you to whom I have preached the Kingdom will ever see me again.I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.“ So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock— his church, purchased with his own blood— over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock.Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following.Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you— my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you.

And I charge you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate,that you obey this command without wavering. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.For, At just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen.Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The time has come for you to die. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tabernacle, so that I may commission him there.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tabernacle.

Jesus came and told his disciples,“ I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Moses laid his hands on him and commissioned him to lead the people, just as the Lord had commanded through Moses.
