Then they sounded the trumpet and all the people shouted,“ Long live King Solomon!”

When King David was very old, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him.

They ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the Lord that day. Then they acknowledged Solomon son of David as king a second time, anointing him before the Lord to be ruler and Zadok to be priest.So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.All the officers and warriors, as well as all of King David’s sons, pledged their submission to King Solomon.The Lord highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal splendor such as no king over Israel ever had before.

Then he breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, old and full of years. And his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

You will come to the grave in full vigor, like sheaves gathered in season.

I will surely carry out this very day what I swore to you by the Lord, the God of Israel: Solomon your son shall be king after me, and he will sit on my throne in my place.”

Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people.
