The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God.

The Levites had the duty of helping the members of Aaron’s family line. They helped them serve in the Lord’ s temple. They were in charge of the courtyards and the side rooms. They made all the sacred things pure and“ clean.” They also had other duties at the house of God.

For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

The work of the Levites was to assist the priests, the descendants of Aaron, as they served at the house of the Lord. They also took care of the courtyards and side rooms, helped perform the ceremonies of purification, and served in many other ways in the house of God.

“ but their duty will be to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the LORD’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,

because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;

“ but their duty will be to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the Lord’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

Because their office[ was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the LORD’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple.

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

又吩咐人潔淨那幾間房間，然後把神殿的器皿，與素祭和乳香搬回那裡。

又把祭司和利未人的班次，耶和華殿裡各樣的職事和耶和華殿裡一切需用的器皿，都指示了他；

猶大的兒子謝拉的子孫中，米示薩別的兒子毘他希雅是王的助手，統管一切民事。

利未人中有管理器皿的使用的；他們按著數目拿出去，也要按著數目拿進來。他們當中又有人受託管理器具，和管理聖所的一切器具，以及細麵、酒、油、乳香、香料。

都領進耶和華的殿裡，進了神人伊基大利的兒子哈難眾子的房間；這房間是在眾領袖的房間旁邊，在沙龍的兒子守衛殿門的瑪西雅的房間上面。

對他們說：“利未人哪，你們要聽我的話；現在你們要自潔，又要潔淨耶和華你們列祖的神的殿，把污穢之物從聖所中除去。

於是他們進王宮見希西家王，說：“我們已經把整個耶和華的殿、燔祭壇和壇的一切器皿、陳設餅的桌子和桌子上的一切器皿，都潔淨了。亞哈斯王在位，他得罪神的時候丟棄的一切器皿，我們都預備齊全，也都潔淨好了；現在都放在耶和華的祭壇前。”

緊靠殿牆，就是圍著外殿和內殿的牆，他又建造平臺，圍繞殿的四周，做成廂房。

門廊兩邊都有小窗和棕樹。殿的廂房也有飛簷。

“你要叫利未支派近前來，使他們站在亞倫祭司面前，可以服事他。他們要替亞倫和全體會眾，在會幕前盡上本分，辦理帳幕的事。他們又要看守管理會幕裡的一切器具，也要替以色列人盡上本分，辦理帳幕的事。你要把利未人派給亞倫和他的兒子，因為他們是從以色列人中選出來完全給他的。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統管基利提人和比利提人；大衛的眾子都在王的左右作領袖。

其中有二萬四千人，監管耶和華殿宇的工作；有六千人作官長和審判官；

你們要謹慎看守，直到你們在耶路撒冷耶和華殿的庫房裡，在祭司長和利未人的領袖，以及以色列人的族長面前，過了秤。’

希西家吩咐人在耶和華的殿裡預備倉房，他們就預備了。

這事以前，受委派管理我們神殿的庫房的以利亞實祭司，與多比雅的關係很密切。他為多比雅預備了一間大房間，那裡以前是用來收存素祭、乳香和器皿，還有祭司的舉祭，以及按照命令供給利未人、歌唱者和守門的那些五穀、新酒和新油的十分之一。

他對我說：“在南北兩面，朝著殿院空地的房子，都是聖潔的房子；親近耶和華的祭司們要在那裡吃至聖之物，也要在那裡存放至聖之物，就是素祭、贖罪祭和贖愆祭的祭物，因為那地方是聖的。

利未人宰了逾越節的羊羔，祭司從他們的手裡把血接過來，灑在壇上，利未人剝了祭牲的皮，把作燔祭的部分拿去，按著各家族的系別分給眾民，使他們可以照著摩西的書上所寫的，奉獻給耶和華。奉獻公牛也是這樣。他們按照規矩用火烤逾越節的羊羔，其他的聖物用鍋、用釜，或用煎盤煮熟，迅速地送給眾民；然後他們才為自己和祭司預備祭物，因為作祭司的亞倫的子孫忙於獻上燔祭和脂肪，直到晚上，利未人才為自己和祭司亞倫的子孫預備祭物。

這些房子一排對著內院十公尺寬的空地，一排對著外院的鋪石地，在三層樓上，都有走廊對著走廊。

他又對那些教導以色列眾人，分別為聖歸耶和華的利未人說：“你們要把聖約櫃安放在以色列王大衛的兒子所羅門建造的殿裡；不必再用肩膀扛抬。現在你們要服事耶和華你們的神，服事他的子民以色列。你們要按著家族和照著班次，根據以色列王大衛所寫的和他兒子所羅門所寫的，自己好好預備。你們要按著你們的親族這平民的家族的班次，侍立在聖所；每個班次中要有幾個利未家族的人。你們要宰逾越節的羊羔，潔淨自己，為你們的親族預備一切，遵守耶和華藉摩西吩咐的話。”

廂房共有三層，一層疊在一層之上，每層有三十間。殿牆的周圍有牆坎子，支撐著廂房，免得廂房的梁木嵌入殿牆。這些圍繞著殿的廂房越高越寬。殿四圍的內牆一級比一級薄，所以廂房越上越寬；有樓梯從下層經過中層上到上層。我又看見一個高臺圍繞著殿，作為廂房的根基，臺高三公尺。廂房的外牆厚兩公尺半；聖殿的廂房與祭司的房子之間有空地，繞著殿的四周，寬十公尺。
