The duty of the Levites was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the temple of the Lord: to be in charge of the courtyards, the side rooms, the purification of all sacred things and the performance of other duties at the house of God.

The Levites had the duty of helping the members of Aaron’s family line. They helped them serve in the Lord’ s temple. They were in charge of the courtyards and the side rooms. They made all the sacred things pure and“ clean.” They also had other duties at the house of God.

For their duty was to assist the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, having the care of the courts and the chambers, the cleansing of all that is holy, and any work for the service of the house of God.

The work of the Levites was to assist the priests, the descendants of Aaron, as they served at the house of the Lord. They also took care of the courtyards and side rooms, helped perform the ceremonies of purification, and served in many other ways in the house of God.

“ but their duty will be to assist the descendants of Aaron with the service of the LORD’s temple, being responsible for the courts and the chambers, the purification of all the holy things, and the work of the service of God’s temple—

For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,

because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;

Because their office[ was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

Their job was to help Aaron’s descendants in the service of the LORD’s temple. They were to take care of the courtyards, the rooms, ceremonial purification of all holy items, and other jobs related to the service of God’s temple.

For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of Yahweh’s house, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;

謂之曰、利未人、宜聽我言、今爾當潔身、以潔主爾列祖之天主之殿、由聖所除其污穢、

入覲希西家王、告曰、我儕已潔主之全殿、火焚祭之臺與其諸器、供陳設餅之案與其諸器、亞哈斯王在位時犯罪、所棄之諸器、我儕俱備之、且潔之、俱在主之祭臺前、

附殿墻、前殿後殿四周、旁建樓房、

廊有窄窗、廊墻上雕基路伯與巴勒瑪樹狀、圍殿之旁室、及諸厚木、亦皆如此、

爾使利未支派近立於祭司亞倫前以事之、代亞倫與會眾在會幕前守所當守者、於幕內供役、守會幕之諸器、代以色列人守所當守者、於幕內供役、爾以利未人賜亞倫及其子孫、利未人乃自以色列人中所擇而賜於亞倫者、

耶何耶大子比拿雅為侍衛長、大衛眾子在王之左右為牧伯、

其中二萬四千、掌建主殿之工者、六千為有司與士師、

故守之益加謹慎、直至在耶路撒冷、在祭司、利未人諸長、及以色列諸族長前權衡、乃入主殿之庫房、

希西家命在主之殿宇備倉、遂備之、

先是祭司以利雅實、司我天主殿之庫房者、與多比雅聯姻、或作先是祭司以利雅實使多比雅同族人司我天主殿之庫房為多比雅備一巨房、昔時素祭物、乳香、器皿、及利未人、謳歌者、守門者、所得什一之榖、酒、油、並祭司所得舉獻之禮物、俱藏其房中、

其人告我曰、隙地前南與北之諸庫房、俱為聖房、近主之祭司、可在彼食至聖之物、置至聖之物、即素祭物、贖罪祭牲之肉、贖愆祭牲之肉、蓋此處為聖、

利未人宰逾越節羔、祭司自利未人手接血灑之、利未人剝皮、由羔取所當焚獻者、以頒於民、循其宗族、俾獻於主、循摩西之書所載、由牛取者亦若是、或作將祭牲移之以頒於民循其宗族俾獻於主循摩西之書所載循常例以火炙逾越節羔、其餘之祭牲、祭牲原文作聖物烹於釜、鍋、鑊、速頒於民眾、然後利未人為己為祭司備逾越節羔、蓋祭司即亞倫子孫、獻火焚祭與脂至夕、故利未人為己、亦為祭司亞倫子孫備逾越節羔、

與內院二十尺之地相對、亦與外院鋪石處相對、庫房與庫房相連、三層皆然、庫房與庫房相連三層皆然或作樓廊又樓廊再樓廊三層

教誨以色列人之利未人、潔己潔己或作區別為聖以奉事主者、王諭之曰、以色列王大衛子所羅門所建之殿、爾曹將聖匱置於其中、不復以肩舁之、今當專奉事主爾之天主、服事其民以色列、爾當自備、按爾宗族、循爾班列、遵以色列王大衛及其子所羅門所錄之例、立於聖所、循爾同族以色列民宗族之次序、亦循利未人宗族之次序、潔己宰逾越節羔、為爾同族備之、遵主藉摩西所諭之命、○

旁室有三層、每層三十、在殿與圍殿之旁室間、又有一墻、附此墻建旁室、使與斯墻相接、不與殿墻相接、使與斯墻相接不與殿墻相接或作使旁室貼附斯墻不貼附殿墻旁室愈高愈廣、因旁室圍殿懸叠而上、故殿顯廣於上、自下層由中層、乃登上層、我觀殿四周有高基、旁室亦有基、或作我見圍殿之旁室有基高足一竿、即六大尺、旁室之外墻、厚五尺、旁室與殿墻間有隙地、附外院之南墻有庫房、其庫房與圍殿之旁室、相間二十尺、旁室之門在隙地、一門向北、一門向南、二旁隙地、各廣五尺、
