掃羅臣僕中、有以東人多益、對曰、我觀耶西之子至挪伯、見亞希突子亞希米勒。亞希米勒為之問耶和華、且供以食、又賜以非利士人坷利亞刃。王召祭司亞希突子亞希米勒、與其父家、既挪伯諸祭司、咸至王前。掃羅曰、亞希突子、宜聽我言。對曰、我主、吾在此。掃羅曰、爾與耶西之子謀攻我、汝贈以刃、供以餅、為之諮詢上帝、使其今日伏以攻我、曷故。亞希米勒對曰、大闢乃王之壻、尊於爾家、遵命而行、爾臣僕中、孰忠如之。我為之諮詢上帝、豈始於此乎。王斷勿歸罪於僕、及我父之家、蓋此事、無論鉅細、我俱不知。王曰、亞希米勒、爾與父家、必致死亡。王諭侍衛曰、耶和華之祭司、輔助大闢、知其逃遁、而不以告、故當殺之。王僕不敢遵命。王諭多益曰、汝擊祭司。以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲公服者八十五人。祭司之邑挪伯、男女、童稚、嬰孩、牛羊、及驢、皆擊以刃。亞希突孫、亞希米勒子亞庇亞塔遁、往從大闢、以掃羅殺耶和華祭司之事告。大闢曰、當日我見以東人多益在側、我知其必告掃羅。今害爾父全家者、實緣於我。有欲害爾命者、亦欲害我命、爾與我偕、可保無虞、爾毋畏焉。
