They divided them impartially by casting lots, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.

The priests were separated into their groups by casting lots. That was the fair way to do it. The priests were officials of the temple and officials of God. They came from the family lines of Eleazar and Ithamar.

They divided them by lot, all alike, for there were sacred officers and officers of God among both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.

All tasks were assigned to the various groups by means of sacred lots so that no preference would be shown, for there were many qualified officials serving God in the sanctuary from among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.

於是眾人為他們搖籤，搖出馬提亞來；他就和十一個使徒同列。

守殿官和祭司長聽見這話，心裏犯難，不知這事將來如何。

約西亞的眾首領也樂意將犧牲給百姓和祭司利未人；又有管理神殿的希勒家、撒迦利亞、耶歇將羊羔二千六百隻，牛三百隻，給祭司作逾越節的祭物。

使徒對百姓說話的時候，祭司們和守殿官，並撒都該人忽然來了。

到了早晨，眾祭司長和民間的長老大家商議要治死耶穌，

約書亞就在示羅，耶和華面前，為他們拈鬮。約書亞在那裏，按着以色列人的支派，將地分給他們。

船上的人彼此說：「來吧，我們掣籤，看看這災臨到我們是因誰的緣故。」於是他們掣籤，掣出約拿來。

還有管理神殿希勒家的兒子亞薩利雅。希勒家是米書蘭的兒子；米書蘭是撒督的兒子；撒督是米拉約的兒子；米拉約是亞希突的兒子。

還有管理神殿的西萊雅。西萊雅是希勒家的兒子；希勒家是米書蘭的兒子；米書蘭是撒督的兒子；撒督是米拉約的兒子；米拉約是亞希突的兒子。

那時，祭司長和民間的長老聚集在大祭司稱為該亞法的院裏。

又有大祭司亞那和該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大，並大祭司的親族都在那裏，

籤放在懷裏，定事由耶和華。
