Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.

All this, said David, have I been made to understand in writing from the hand of Jehovah, even all the works of this pattern.

And see that thou make them after their pattern, which hath been showed thee in the mount.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

who serve that which is a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned of God when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.

And thou shalt make a mercy- seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold; of beaten work shalt thou make them, at the two ends of the mercy- seat.And make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end: of one piece with the mercy- seat shall ye make the cherubim on the two ends thereof.And the cherubim shall spread out their wings on high, covering the mercy- seat with their wings, with their faces one to another; toward the mercy- seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.And thou shalt put the mercy- seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy- seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah unto its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle; and he made side- chambers round about.The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not have hold in the walls of the house.

And he built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

And the side- chambers were in three stories, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side- chambers round about, that they might have hold therein, and not have hold in the wall of the house.And the side- chambers were broader as they encompassed the house higher and higher; for the encompassing of the house went higher and higher round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house continued upward; and so one went up from the lowest chamber to the highest by the middle chamber.I saw also that the house had a raised basement round about: the foundations of the side- chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.The thickness of the wall, which was for the side- chambers, on the outside, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side- chambers that belonged to the house.And between the chambers was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.And the doors of the side- chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

And from the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

According to all that Jehovah commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work.And Moses saw all the work, and, behold, they had done it; as Jehovah had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

For there was a tabernacle prepared, the first, wherein were the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread; which is called the Holy place.And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies;having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was a golden pot holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy- seat; of which things we cannot now speak severally.Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services;but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offereth for himself, and for the errors of the people:the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing;

And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor unto the walls of the ceiling: he built them for it within, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.And the house, that is, the temple before the oracle, was forty cubits long.And there was cedar on the house within, carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.And he prepared an oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.And within the oracle was a space of twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold: and he covered the altar with cedar.

So he measured the house, a hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, a hundred cubits long;also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, a hundred cubits.And he measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at the back thereof, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, a hundred cubits; and the inner temple, and the porches of the court;the thresholds, and the closed windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, over against the threshold, ceiled with wood round about, and from the ground up to the windows,( now the windows were covered),to the space above the door, even unto the inner house, and without, and by all the wall round about within and without, by measure.

And the priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes unto the house of our God, to the chambers, into the treasure- house.For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the heave- offering of the grain, of the new wine, and of the oil, unto the chambers, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests that minister, and the porters, and the singers: and we will not forsake the house of our God.

Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.And the porch that was before the house, the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.And the greater house he ceiled with fir- wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm- trees and chains.And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.He overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubim on the walls.And he made the most holy house: the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.

for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God.And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge thereof was upon them; and to them pertained the opening thereof morning by morning.And certain of them had charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out.Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of Jehovah, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy- seat above upon the ark:and he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony; as Jehovah commanded Moses.

And of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of the house of God, and over the treasures of the dedicated things.The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ houses belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.The sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the house of Jehovah.Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites:and Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasures.And his brethren: of Eliezer came Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.This Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the heads of the fathers’ houses, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated.Out of the spoil won in battles did they dedicate to repair the house of Jehovah.

And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which hath been showed thee in the mount.

And he looked up, and saw the rich men that were casting their gifts into the treasury.

Thou, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, make known unto them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the egresses thereof, and the entrances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof; and write it in their sight; that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meal- offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, which were given by commandment to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the heave- offerings for the priests.
