“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah as leader, and from the tribe of Judah he chose my family, and from my father’s sons he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ But the Lord chose me. He is the God of Israel. He chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever. He chose Judah to lead the tribes. From the tribe of Judah he chose my family. From my father’s sons he chose me. He was pleased to make me king over the whole nation of Israel.

Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me from all my father’s house to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and in the house of Judah my father’s house, and among my father’s sons he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, has chosen me from among all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen the tribe of Judah to rule, and from among the families of Judah he chose my father’s family. And from among my father’s sons the Lord was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

However the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit Jehovah, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel;

“ Yet the Lord God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s household to be king over Israel forever. For He chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s household, and from my father’s sons, He was pleased to make me king over all Israel.

Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah[ to be] the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make[ me] king over all Israel:

The LORD God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. Indeed, he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel.

However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我已經拒絕讓掃羅做以色列王了，你還要為他哀傷多久呢？把你的角盛滿膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恆的耶西那裡，我已選了他的一個兒子做王。」

猶大雖然在眾弟兄中最強大，君王也是出自他的後裔，長子的名分卻屬於約瑟。

耶西及其眾子來了，撒母耳看見以利押，心裡想：「這位肯定是耶和華要膏立的人。」但耶和華對撒母耳說：「不要看他相貌堂堂、身材高大，我要選的不是他。耶和華不像世人那樣看人，人看外表，耶和華看內心。」耶西吩咐他的兒子亞比拿達從撒母耳面前走過，但撒母耳說：「這也不是耶和華揀選的人。」耶西又叫沙瑪從撒母耳面前走過，但撒母耳說：「這也不是耶和華揀選的人。」耶西叫七個兒子一個一個從撒母耳面前走過，但撒母耳說他們都不是耶和華揀選的人。撒母耳問耶西：「你的兒子全都到齊了嗎？」耶西答道：「還有一個最小的，他正在田間放羊。」撒母耳對耶西說：「派人叫他回來，他不來，我們就不入座。」耶西就派人去叫他回來。他面色紅潤，眉清目秀，相貌英俊。耶和華說：「就是他，起來膏立他吧。」撒母耳就拿出盛膏油的角，當著他哥哥們的面膏立他。從那天起，耶和華的靈降在大衛身上。事後，撒母耳回拉瑪去了。

願你賜福僕人的王朝，使它在你面前永遠堅立。耶和華啊，你已賜下祝福，你的祝福是永遠的！」

「現在你要告訴我的僕人大衛，萬軍之耶和華說，『你原本在草場牧羊，我召你來做我以色列子民的首領。無論你去哪裡，我都與你同在，為你剷除所有仇敵。現在我要使你聲名遠播，與世上的偉人齊名。我必為我的以色列子民預備一個地方，栽培他們，讓他們住在自己的家園，不再受驚擾，不會像從前我設立士師治理他們的時候那樣受惡人壓迫。我必使你安定，免受仇敵的侵擾。我耶和華向你宣告，我必建立你的王室。

「猶大啊，你的兄弟們必讚美你，你必制伏你的仇敵，你父親的兒子必向你下拜。我兒猶大是頭小獅子，他獵食回來，躺臥如雄獅，蹲伏如母獅，誰敢驚擾他？王權必不離猶大，御杖必伴他左右，直到那位執掌王權的來到，萬民都必歸順他。

「耶和華啊，願你永遠信守你對僕人和僕人家的應許，願你成就自己的應許。

西弗人到基比亞見掃羅，說：「大衛正躲在曠野附近的哈基拉山中。」

祂揀選了猶大支派，祂所喜愛的錫安山。祂為自己建造高聳的聖所，使它像大地一樣長存。祂揀選了祂的僕人大衛，把他從羊圈中召來，讓他離開牧羊的生活，去牧養祂的子民雅各的後裔，牧養祂的產業以色列。於是，大衛以正直的心牧養他們，用靈巧的手帶領他們。

基列是我的，瑪拿西也是我的，以法蓮是我的頭盔，猶大是我的權杖。

祂拯救我，領我到寬闊之地，因為祂喜悅我。

他們因你的名終日歡欣，因你的公義而雀躍。你是他們的力量和榮耀，你的恩惠使我們充滿力量。耶和華賜下保護我們的盾牌，我們的王屬於以色列的聖者。你曾在異象中對你忠心的子民說：「我已把力量賜給一位勇士，已擢升我在民中揀選的人。我找到了我的僕人大衛，用我的聖油膏立他。我的手必扶持他，我的臂膀必加給他力量。仇敵勝不過他，惡人不能欺壓他。我要當著他的面擊垮他的敵人，打倒恨他的人。我要以信實和慈愛待他，他必因我的名而充滿力量。我要使他左手掌管大海，右手統治江河。他要向我高呼，『你是我的父親，我的上帝，拯救我的磐石。』我要立他為我的長子，使他做天下至尊的君王。

基列是我的，瑪拿西也是我的，以法蓮是我的頭盔，猶大是我的權杖。

顯然，我們的主基督屬於猶大支派，摩西從來沒有說這個支派會出祭司。

耶和華所喜悅的不是強健的馬匹，也不是矯捷的戰士，而是敬畏祂、仰望祂慈愛的人。
