Furthermore David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen,[ is yet] young and tender, and the work[ is] great: for the palace[ is] not for man, but for the LORD God.

大衛王對全體大眾說：『我兒子所羅門、上帝所選擇的人、還年青嬌嫩，而這工程卻很大；因為這殿宇不是要為着人，乃是要為着永恆主上帝而建的。

大衛王謂會眾曰、我子所羅門、乃耶和華所簡、今尚冲弱、而工程浩大、蓋此殿宇非為人也、乃為耶和華上帝也、

大闢王告會眾曰、我子所羅門、尚在弱齡、上帝特遴選之、工作甚鉅、蓋殿非為人也、乃為上帝耶和華。

大衛王謂會眾曰、我子所羅門、主特選之、今尚幼弱、而工作甚大、蓋殿宇非為人、乃為主爾之天主、

Then King David said to the whole assembly:“ My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. The task is great, because this palatial structure is not for man but for the Lord God.

Then King David spoke to the whole community. He said,“ God has chosen my son Solomon. But Solomon is young. He’s never done anything like this before. The task is huge. This grand and wonderful temple won’t be built for human beings. It will be built for the Lord God.

And David the king said to all the assembly,“ Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great, for the palace will not be for man but for the Lord God.

Then King David turned to the entire assembly and said,“ My son Solomon, whom God has clearly chosen as the next king of Israel, is still young and inexperienced. The work ahead of him is enormous, for the Temple he will build is not for mere mortals— it is for the Lord God himself!

Then King David said to all the assembly,“ My son Solomon— God has chosen him alone— is young and inexperienced. The task is great because the building will not be built for a human but for the LORD God.

Then King David said to the entire assembly,“ My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and inexperienced, and the work is great; for the temple is not for mankind, but for the Lord God.

Furthermore King David said to all the assembly:“ My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced; and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for the Lord God.

And David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

Then King David said to all the assembly,“ My son Solomon— God has chosen him alone— is young and inexperienced. The task is great because the temple will not be for man but for the Lord God.

King David said to the entire assembly:“ My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is just an inexperienced young man, and the task is great, for this palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

David the king said to all the assembly,“ Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh God.

And David said, Solomon my son[ is] young and tender, and the house[ that is] to be builded for the LORD[ must be] exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will[ therefore] now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I[ am but] a little child: I know not[ how] to go out or come in.

And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate[ it] to him,[ and] to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual shewbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This[ is an ordinance] for ever to Israel.And the house which I build[ is] great: for great[ is] our God above all gods.

Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

For I was my father’s son, tender and only[ beloved] in the sight of my mother.

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I[ am] a child.But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I[ am] a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do[ it].

And of all my sons,( for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him[ to be] my son, and I will be his father.

And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.

Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave[ it] for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all[ these things], and to build the palace,[ for] the which I have made provision.
