So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.

Obey the king’s command, I say, because you took an oath before God.Do not be in a hurry to leave the king’s presence. Do not stand up for a bad cause, for he will do whatever he pleases.Since a king’s word is supreme, who can say to him,“ What are you doing?”Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. “ Now, my son, the Lord be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would. (niv)

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (niv)

When your days are over and you go to be with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever. (niv)

The Lord swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke:“ One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. (niv)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. (niv)
