『主永恆主這麼說：內院朝東的門在辦理事務的六日之內必須關閉着，但在安息日上卻要打開，每月一日也要打開。人君要從這門的廊子外面進入，在門框旁邊立着；祭司要供備他的燔祭和平安祭，他就在門限那裏敬拜，然後出去；這門非到傍晚總不關閉。

以上是守門者的班次、做頭的人的班次；其職守跟他們的族弟兄並立，就是在永恆主之殿裏供職。他們無論大小、都按父系的家屬拈鬮，一門一門分守。守東門的鬮是落於示利米雅。他們也給他的兒子撒迦利亞、一個精明的參謀、拈鬮；他的鬮拈出北門來。俄別以東守南門；他的兒子守庫房。何薩守西門，靠近廂房大門、在上行的大路上：這班跟那班並立而守。守東門的每日有六個人，守北門的每日有四個人，守南門的每日有四個人，守庫房的是兩個人兩個人輪流的。在西面聖殿的遊廊有四個人在大路上，有兩個人在遊廊那裏。以上是可拉子孫和米拉利子孫守門的班次。

那人正握住彼得約翰的時候、眾民都一齊跑到他們那裏，在那名叫所羅門廊之下，非常驚訝。

他對我說：『這門必須關閉着；不可敞開；誰也不可由那裏進入；因為永恆主以色列之上帝曾經由那裏進入過；因此必須關閉着。至於人君、只有人君可以坐在那裏，在永恆主面前喫飯；只有他可以從這門廊的路進入，而從原路出來。』
