Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his fellow gatekeepers from his family( the Korahites) were responsible for guarding the thresholds of the tent just as their ancestors had been responsible for guarding the entrance to the dwelling of the Lord.

Shallum was the son of Kore. Kore was the son of Ebiasaph. Ebiasaph was the son of Korah. Shallum and the other Levites in his family belonged to the family line of Korah. They had the duty of guarding the entrances to the tent. From long ago, their people had the duty of guarding the entrance to the house of the Lord.

Shallum the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his kinsmen of his fathers’ house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent, as their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.

Shallum was the son of Kore, a descendant of Abiasaph, from the clan of Korah. He and his relatives, the Korahites, were responsible for guarding the entrance to the sanctuary, just as their ancestors had guarded the Tabernacle in the camp of the Lord.

Shallum son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah, and his relatives from his family( the Korahites) were assigned to guard the entrance to the sanctuary. Their ancestors had guarded the entrance to the LORD’s dwelling place.

The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose brothers were valiant men, Elihu, and Semachiah.All these were of the sons of Obed- Edom: they and their sons and their brothers, able men in strength for the service: sixty- two of Obed- Edom.

This is the thing that you must do. A third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people will be in the courts of Yahweh’s house.But let no one come into Yahweh’s house, except the priests and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow Yahweh’s instructions.The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out.”So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath; with those who were to go out on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, near the altar and the house, around the king.

The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram who were called by the congregation, who rebelled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah when they rebelled against Yahweh;and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah didn’t die.

Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them,“ Bring her out between the ranks. Kill anyone who follows her with the sword.” For the priest said,“ Don’t let her be slain in Yahweh’s house.”

They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.The lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.To Obed- Edom southward; and to his sons the storehouse.To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goes up, watchman opposite watchman.Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the storehouse two and two.For Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.These were the divisions of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korahites, and of the sons of Merari.

We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.

Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,

The captains over hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded; and they each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.

For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
