吾人當初若能善自檢點、則亦何至如此受罪。

But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.

We should think more carefully about what we are doing. Then we would not be found guilty for this.

But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.

But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.

If we were properly judging ourselves, we would not be judged,

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.

For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

If we were properly evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged,

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

But if we examined ourselves, we would not be judged.

For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged.

我保持沉默、不認罪的時候，就因終日哀號而骨頭衰朽；因為你的手晝夜重壓在我身上，我的精力耗盡，如同在夏天的乾旱中。細拉我向你告白我的罪，沒有遮蓋我的罪孽；我說：「我要為我的過犯向耶和華認罪」，你就赦免了我的罪愆。細拉

所以你應當記住你是從哪裡跌落的，應當悔改，應當行你起初所做的事！否則我就要來到你那裡；如果你不悔改，我就要把你的燈臺從原處挪去。

你當警醒，堅固那些剩餘的、快要死去的人。實際上，我看出你的行為在我的神面前是不完全的；所以你應當記住你所領受、所聽見的是什麼；你應當持守，應當悔改。如果你不警醒，我就要來臨，就像賊來臨那樣；而你絕不會知道我什麼時候臨到你。

這樣，一個人應當省察自己，然後才吃這餅、喝這杯。

我要起來，到我父親那裡去，對他說：『父親，我對天犯了罪，也在你面前犯了罪。我再也不配稱為你的兒子，請把我當做你的一個雇工吧。』於是他起來往自己的父親那裡去。他離得還遠的時候，他父親就看到他，動了憐憫之心，跑上去摟住他的脖子親吻他。
