So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours,

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all— how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (niv)

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying,“ Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. (niv)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (niv)

Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (niv)

For when one says,“ I follow Paul,” and another,“ I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe— as the Lord has assigned to each his task.I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. (niv)

For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. (niv)

What I mean is this: One of you says,“ I follow Paul”; another,“ I follow Apollos”; another,“ I follow Cephas”; still another,“ I follow Christ.”Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,so no one can say that you were baptized in my name.( Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.)For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel— not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
