夫爾曹相訟、其失已甚、盍寧受枉受虧乎、

爾曹爭訟、其過大矣、孰若受害受虧為美、

爾彼此爭訟、已為爾之大過、何不忍以受欺、何不忍以受虧乎、

又有進者、兄弟間有爭訟之事、已屬不是；孰若甘心抱屈、犯而不校之為善乎？

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?

Nay, already it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded?

Therefore, to have legal disputes against one another is already a moral failure for you. Why not rather put up with injustice? Why not rather be cheated?

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather[ suffer yourselves to] be defrauded?

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.

not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.

For it brings favor if, because of a consciousness of God, someone endures grief from suffering unjustly.For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth;when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

Don’t say,“ I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the LORD, and he will rescue you.

But I tell you, don’t resist an evildoer. On the contrary, if anyone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.As for the one who wants to sue you and take away your shirt, let him have your coat as well.And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two.

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you?You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask.You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all.

If anyone hits you on the cheek, offer the other also. And if anyone takes away your coat, don’t hold back your shirt either.

so that he may guard the paths of justice and protect the way of his faithful followers.Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and integrity— every good path.For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will delight you.

Their hearts are devious; now they must bear their guilt. The LORD will break down their altars and demolish their sacred pillars.

then you will understand the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.
