那麼，我的報償到底是什麼呢？就是：我傳福音的時候，能免費地提供福音，好使我不會充分利用在福音工作上屬自己的權利。

既是这样，我的赏赐是什么呢？就是我传福音的时候叫人不花钱得福音，免得用尽我传福音的权柄。

然則我之賞維何、即宣福音、使人不費而得之、免我盡用福音之權也、

我自詡何歟、即傳基督福音、未嘗傷人之財、雖有權、而我不妄用其權、

然則我之賞何歟、即我傳基督之福音、使人無所費而得、不妄用我在福音所有之權、

然則吾果無報酬乎？曰：正惟吾傳福音而不受酬、而不享受權利、酬在其中矣。

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel.

Then what reward do I get? Here is what it is. I am able to preach the good news free of charge. And I can do this without using all my rights as a person who preaches the good news.

What then is my reward? That in my preaching I may present the gospel free of charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What then is my pay? It is the opportunity to preach the Good News without charging anyone. That’s why I never demand my rights when I preach the Good News.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

What, then, is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.

What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my authority in the gospel.

What is my reward then?[ Verily] that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

實際上，我們不是傳揚自己，而是傳揚主耶穌基督，並且為了耶穌的緣故，我們自己做了你們的奴僕；

難道只有我和巴拿巴沒有不做工的權利嗎？曾經有誰當兵自備糧餉呢？有誰栽種葡萄園不吃園中的果子呢？有誰牧養羊群不喝羊群的奶呢？

不過要當心，免得你們的這權利成了軟弱之人的絆跌物。

也沒有白吃過誰的飯。相反，我們辛苦勞碌、日夜做工，免得成為你們任何人的負擔。這並不是因為我們沒有這權利，而是要親自給你們做榜樣，好讓你們效法我們。

要像我那樣，也在一切事上使所有的人喜悅——不求自己的益處，而求多人的益處，好讓他們都能得救。

利用世界的，要像沒有充分利用世界的；因為這世界的形態正在消逝。

無論向你們或向其他人，我們也都沒有尋求從人來的榮耀。

我降卑自己，好使你們被高舉，因為我把神的福音無償地傳給你們，難道我這樣就犯了罪嗎？我「掠奪了」別的教會，拿了他們的工價來服事你們。我在你們那裡有缺乏的時候，也沒有成為任何人的負擔，因為從馬其頓省來的弟兄們補足了我的缺乏。在一切事上我都留意，不讓自己成為你們的負擔，將來也會留意。

除了我自己沒有成為你們的負擔以外，你們所受的對待，到底有什麼不如其他教會呢？請你們饒恕我這點不公平吧！看哪，這是我第三次預備好到你們那裡去，而且我不會成為你們的負擔，因為我想要的不是你們的東西，而是你們自己。本來，不應該是兒女為父母積蓄財富，而是父母為兒女積蓄財富。所以為了你們的靈魂，我會極其樂意地付出，甚至完全付出。難道我愛你們越多，就越少得到你們的愛嗎？不過就算如此，我也沒有成為你們的負擔——難道我是狡猾的人，用詭計牢籠了你們嗎？難道我曾經藉著派到你們那裡去的人，對不起你們嗎？我鼓勵提多去，又打發那位弟兄與他一起去。難道提多對不起你們嗎？我們行事，難道不是同一個心靈嗎？難道不是同一個步調嗎？

如果因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂傷，你就不再是憑著愛行事了。基督已經替他死了，不可因你的食物毀了他。
