今以色列人眾之目、皆仰望我主我王、待王曉諭我主我王之後、誰坐王位、

My lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are on you, to learn from you who will sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

You are my king and master. All the Israelites are watching to see what you will do. They want to find out from you who will sit on the throne after you.

在我的众子中（因为耶和华赐给我许多儿子），他拣选了我的儿子所罗门，坐耶和华的国位，统治以色列。耶和华对我说：‘你的儿子所罗门要建造我的殿宇和庭院；因为我已经拣选他作我的儿子，我也要作他的父亲。

耶和华的灵藉着我说话，他的话在我的舌头上。

我的眼睛时常仰望耶和华，因为他必使我的脚脱离网罗。

我们的神啊，你不惩罚他们吗？因为我们没有力量抵挡这来攻打我们的大军；我们也不知道该作什么；我们的眼睛只有仰望你。”

大卫王对全体会众说：“我的儿子所罗门，是神所拣选的，现在还年幼识浅，而这工程非常浩大；因为这殿宇不是为人建造，而是为耶和华神建造的。

仆人的眼睛怎样望着主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎样望着主母的手，我们的眼睛也照样望着耶和华我们的神，直到他向我们施恩。

看哪，你必生一个儿子；他是个和平的人，我必使他得享太平，不被四围所有的仇敌骚扰；他的名字要叫所罗门，他在位的日子，我必把太平和安宁赐给以色列人。他要为我的名建造殿宇；他要作我的儿子，我要作他的父亲；我必坚立他的国位，永远统治以色列。’我儿啊，现在愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，照着他应许你，建造耶和华你的神的殿宇。
