Even after this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people. Anyone who wanted to become a priest he consecrated for the high places.

耶羅波安卻為邱壇、公山羊像和他造的牛犢像設立他自己的祭司。

你們趕走了做耶和華祭司的亞倫之後裔和利未人，效法外族人的惡俗為自己設立祭司。任何人牽來一頭公牛犢和七隻公綿羊，就可以自封為假神的祭司。

而惡人和騙子會變本加厲地迷惑人，也被人迷惑。

在遷移的時候，利未人要負責拆卸和支搭聖幕；其他人若走近聖幕，必被處死。

直到上帝擊殺他們的時候，他們才回轉，誠心尋求上帝。

耶羅波安又在高崗上修建神廟，任命各樣的人做祭司，他們並非利未人。耶羅波安規定每年八月十五日為節期，好像猶大的節期一樣。他自己在伯特利的祭壇上向金牛犢獻祭燒香，又派神廟的祭司在獻祭中司職。在八月十五日，就是他私自為以色列人定為節期的日子，他在伯特利的祭壇上燒香。

這樣，米迦派他做祭司，讓他住在自己家裡。

以色列人對摩西說：「完了！我們死定了！我們全死定了！凡走近耶和華聖幕的都要死，我們豈不是全都要滅亡嗎？」

你哥哥亞倫及其眾子穿上這些衣服後，你要用油膏立他們，使他們分別出來，做聖潔的祭司事奉我。

看啊，耶和華一聲令下，大屋頓成瓦礫，小房化為碎片。

誰的杖發芽，誰就是我所揀選的人。這樣，我必消除以色列人對你們的埋怨。」

你要指派亞倫父子們盡祭司的職分，其他人若走近聖幕，必被處死。」

每當他手中的器皿做壞了，他就用那塊泥重做，想怎麼做就怎麼做。
