And the Lord will strike Israel, so that it will be like a reed swaying in the water. He will uproot Israel from this good land that he gave to their ancestors and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they aroused the Lord’s anger by making Asherah poles.

I, the Lord, will strike down Israel. Israel will be like tall grass swaying in the water. I will pull Israel up from this good land by the roots. I gave it to their people who lived long ago. I will scatter Israel to the east side of the Euphrates River. That is because they made the Lord very angry. They made poles used to worship the female god named Asherah.

Then the Lord will shake Israel like a reed whipped about in a stream. He will uproot the people of Israel from this good land that he gave their ancestors and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, for they have angered the Lord with the Asherah poles they have set up for worship.

耶和华—你们的神所应许的一切福气怎样临到你们身上，耶和华也必照样使各样灾祸临到你们身上，直到他把你们从耶和华—你们神所赐给你们的这美地上除灭。你们若违背耶和华—你们神吩咐你们所守的约，去事奉别神，敬拜它们，耶和华的怒气必向你们发作，使你们在他所赐给你们的美地上迅速灭亡。”

在以色列王比加的日子，亚述王提革拉‧毗列色来夺取以云、亚伯‧伯‧玛迦、亚挪、基低斯、夏琐、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把这些地方的居民都掳到亚述去了。

神也要毁灭你，直到永远。他要抓住你，从帐棚中拉你出来，从活人之地将你拔除。（细拉）

你要拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的柱像，砍断他们的亚舍拉。不可敬拜别神，因为耶和华是忌邪的神，他的名是忌邪者。

我今日呼天唤地向你们作见证，你们在过约旦河得为业的地上必迅速灭亡！你们在那地的日子必不长久，必全然灭绝。耶和华必将你们分散在万民中；在耶和华领你们到的列国中，你们剩下的人丁稀少。

“我从他们面前除灭亚摩利人；他虽高大如香柏树，强壮如橡树，我却上灭其果，下绝其根。

耶和华先前怎样喜爱善待你们，使你们增多，耶和华也要照样喜爱消灭你们，使你们灭绝。你们必从所要进去得为业的地上被拔除。耶和华必把你们分散在万民中，从地的这边到地的另一边，在那里你必事奉你和你列祖不认识的神明，就是木头和石头。在那些国中，你必得不到安宁，脚掌也没有安歇之处；耶和华却要使你在那里心中发颤，眼目失明，精神沮丧。你的一生悬空不安；你昼夜恐惧，生命没有保障。你因心中的恐惧，眼睛所见的景象，早晨必说：‘但愿现在是晚上！’晚上必说：‘但愿现在是早晨！’耶和华要用船把你送回埃及去，走那我曾告诉你不再看见的路；在那里你们必卖身给你的仇敌作奴婢，却没有人要买。”

万国必说：‘耶和华为什么向此地这样做呢？为什么要大发烈怒呢？’人必说：‘这是因为这地的人离弃了耶和华—他们列祖的神领他们出埃及地的时候与他们所立的约，去事奉别神，敬拜他们所不认识的神明，这是耶和华未曾允许的。所以耶和华的怒气向这地发作，将这书上所写的一切诅咒都降在这地上。耶和华在怒气、愤怒、大恼恨中将他们从本地拔出来，扔到别的地上，像今日一样。’

“耶和华必将你和你所立统治你的王，领到你和你列祖不认识的国去；在那里你必事奉别神，就是木头和石头。

迦萨必遭遗弃，亚实基伦必然荒凉；亚实突人必在正午被赶出，以革伦也要连根拔除。

你们若不断作恶，你们和你们的王必一同灭亡。”

何细亚第九年，亚述王攻取了撒玛利亚，把以色列人掳到亚述，安置在哈腊与歌散的哈博河边，以及玛代人的城镇。这是因为以色列人得罪了那领他们出埃及地、脱离埃及王法老之手的耶和华—他们的神，去敬畏别神，

地被他们离弃，因他们不在而荒凉的时候，就要重享安息。他们服了罪孽的惩罚，因为他们厌弃我的典章，心中厌恶我的律例。

因为他们在各高冈上，各青翠树下筑丘坛，立柱像和亚舍拉。国中也有男的庙妓。他们效法耶和华在以色列人面前所赶出的外邦人，行一切可憎恶的事。

约翰所差来的人一走，耶稣就对众人谈到约翰，说：“你们从前到旷野去，是要看什么呢？被吹动的芦苇吗？

但悖逆的和犯罪的必一同败亡，离弃耶和华的必致消灭。那等人必因所喜爱的圣树抱愧；你们必因所选择的园子蒙羞，

他们一走，耶稣就对众人谈到约翰，说：“你们从前到旷野去，是要看什么呢？看风吹动的芦苇吗？

亚述王把以色列人掳到亚述，安置在哈腊与歌散的哈博河边，以及玛代人的城镇。这是因为他们不听从耶和华—他们的神的话，违背了他的约；他们既不听从，也不遵行耶和华仆人摩西一切所吩咐的。

耶稣回答：“一切植物，若不是我天父栽植的，都要连根拔出来。

我要使这地变荒凉，甚至占领这地的敌人都惊讶。我要把你们驱散到列国中，也要拔刀追赶你们。你们的地要成为荒凉，你们的城镇要变成废墟。“当你们在敌人之地的时候，你们的地要在一切荒凉的日子重享安息；在那时候，地要休息，重享安息。

你反倒行恶，比在你之前所有的人更严重；你离开了我，为自己立了别神，铸了偶像，惹我发怒，将我丢在背后。

你们抬着摩洛的帐幕和理番—你们神明的星，就是你们所造为要敬拜的像。因此，我要把你们迁到巴比伦外去。’

所以我要把你们掳到大马士革以外。”这是耶和华说的，他的名为万军之神。
