于是亚撒把耶和华殿和王宫的府库里所剩下的金银，都交在他臣仆的手中。亚撒王差派他们到大马士革的亚兰王，希旬的孙子、他伯利们的儿子便．哈达那里去，说：

所罗门王用锤炼好的金子做了二百面大盾牌，每一面大盾牌用锤炼好的金子七公斤。又用锤炼好的金子做了三百面小盾牌，每一面小盾牌用锤炼好的金子约三公斤；王把这些盾牌都放在黎巴嫩林宫。

我恨恶我的一切劳碌，就是我在日光之下的劳碌，因为我不得不把劳碌的成果留给后人。那人将来是智是愚，有谁晓得呢？可是他竟要掌管一切我劳碌得来的，就是我在日光之下用智慧得来的。这又是虚空。

于是埃及王示撒上来攻打耶路撒冷，夺取了耶和华殿和王宫里的宝物，把它们全部带走，又夺去了所罗门所做的金盾牌。罗波安王做了一些铜盾牌代替那些金盾牌，交给那些看守宫门的守卫长看管。每逢王进耶和华殿的时候，守卫就来拿这些盾牌，事后又把盾牌送回守卫房那里。

所罗门王用锤炼好的金子做了二百面大盾牌，每一面大盾牌用金子七公斤；又用锤炼好的金子做了三百面小盾牌，每一面小盾牌用金子两公斤。王把这些盾牌都放在黎巴嫩林宫。

世人来来往往只是幻影，他们忙乱也是虚空；积聚财物，却不知道谁要来收取。

你的眼睛注视在钱财上，钱财却不见了，因为钱财必长起翅膀，如鹰飞往天上。

他又从耶路撒冷把耶和华殿一切宝物和王宫的宝物取去，并且把以色列王所罗门在耶和华殿所做的一切金器都捣毁，就像耶和华所说的。

我断然指着自己的圣洁起誓，说：‘我决不向大卫说谎。他的后裔必存到永远，他的王位在我面前必像太阳长存，又像月亮永远坚立，作天上确实的见证。’”（细拉）你却恼怒你的受膏者，丢掉弃绝他。你舍弃了和你仆人所立的约，把他的冠冕玷污在地。你拆毁了他的一切城墙，使他的堡垒成废堆。过路的都抢掠他，他成了邻国的人羞辱的对象。你高举了他敌人的右手，使他所有的仇敌欢喜。你使他的刀剑卷刃，使他在战场上站立不住。你使他的光辉消失，把他的王位推翻（“推翻”原文作“推倒在地”）。你减少了他青春的日子，使他披上耻辱。（细拉）

这样，所罗门为耶和华的殿所作的一切工程都完成了。所罗门把他父亲大卫分别为圣的金银和器皿，都运了来，存放在耶和华殿的库房里。
