Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done.

亞撒行耶和華－他神眼中看為善為正的事，

亞撒呼求耶和華－他的神說：「耶和華啊，在強弱之間，惟有你能幫助。耶和華－我們的神啊，求你幫助我們，因為我們仰賴你，奉你的名來抵擋這大軍。耶和華啊，你是我們的神，不要讓人勝過你。」

那時，哈拿尼先見來見猶大王亞撒，對他說：「因你仰賴亞蘭王，沒有仰賴耶和華－你的神，所以亞蘭王的軍兵逃脫了你的手。古實人和路比人的軍隊不是非常強大嗎？他們的戰車騎兵不是極多嗎？只因你仰賴耶和華，他就將他們交在你手裏。因為耶和華的眼目遍察全地，要堅固向他存純正之心的人。你在這事上行得愚昧；因此，以後你必有戰爭。」亞撒惱恨先見，為了這事向他發怒，將他囚在監裏。那時亞撒也虐待一些百姓。

亞比央行他父親從前所犯一切的罪，他的心不像他曾祖父大衛以純正的心順服耶和華－他的神。

只是丘壇還沒有從以色列中廢去，然而亞撒一生有純正的心。
