Asa then took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and of his own palace. He entrusted it to his officials and sent them to Ben-Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus.

Asa took all the silver and gold left among the treasures of the Lord’ s temple and his own palace. He put his officials in charge of it. He sent the officials to Ben- Hadad. Ben- Hadad was king of Aram. He was ruling in Damascus. He was the son of Tabrimmon and the grandson of Hezion.

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house and gave them into the hands of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,

Asa responded by removing all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord and the royal palace. He sent it with some of his officials to Ben hadad son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus, along with this message:

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and gave it to his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and the treasuries of the royal palace and put it into the hands of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon son of Hezion king of Aram who lived in Damascus, saying,

Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and of the royal palace and handed it to his servants. He then told them to deliver it to Ben Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, ruler in Damascus, along with this message:

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered it into the hand of his servants. Then King Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

搶走了耶和華的殿和王宮裡所有的寶物，包括所羅門製造的金盾牌。

上帝又使以利亞大的兒子利遜興起，與所羅門為敵。這人從他主人瑣巴王哈大底謝身邊逃走後，招聚了一群匪徒，自己做頭目。大衛征服瑣巴人後，他又前往大馬士革，在那裡做王。

他又把他父親和他自己所獻上的金銀和器皿都帶到耶和華的殿裡。

夜裡，亞伯蘭和他的隨從分頭出擊，大敗敵人，一直追殺到大馬士革北面的何巴，

亞蘭王便·哈達率領全軍，聯合三十二個王，帶著車馬圍攻撒瑪利亞。他派遣使者進城對以色列王亞哈說：「便·哈達說，『你的金銀和你家中最美的妻妾兒女都是我的。』」以色列王說：「我主我王啊，我答應你的要求，我和我的一切都是你的。」不久，使者又來對他說：「便·哈達說，『我已派人吩咐你把金銀、妻妾和兒女都給我。

他們聽見亞哈的口氣溫和，連忙附和說：「是啊，便·哈達是王的兄弟。」亞哈便吩咐他們去把便·哈達帶來見他，然後讓便·哈達登上他的戰車。便·哈達對亞哈說：「我必歸還我父親從你父親那裡奪來的城邑，你可以在大馬士革設立貿易區，就像我父親在撒瑪利亞所設立的一樣。」亞哈回答說：「你依此立個約，我就放你走。」立約之後，亞哈就放便·哈達走了。

所以我要降火在哈薛王家，燒毀便·哈達王的城堡。

於是，亞撒收集耶和華殿裡和王宮庫房裡的金銀，派人送給住在大馬士革的亞蘭王便·哈達，說：「我們之間應立盟約，像我們的父親之間立約一樣，現在奉上金銀為禮，請你取消與以色列王巴沙立的盟約。這樣，他就會從我境內退兵。」便·哈達接受了亞撒王的提議，派將領攻打以色列的城邑，攻佔了以雲、但、亞伯·瑪音和拿弗他利所有的儲貨城。巴沙聞訊，就停止修築拉瑪。亞撒王率領全體猶大人，將巴沙修築拉瑪所用的石頭和木材全部搬走，用來修建迦巴和米斯巴。

我要焚燒大馬士革的城牆和便·哈達的宮殿。」

一天，以利沙到了大馬士革。當時亞蘭王便·哈達正在生病，他得知上帝的僕人來了，便對哈薛說：「你帶著禮物去見上帝的僕人，請他求問耶和華，看看我這病能否痊癒。」哈薛用四十頭駱駝馱著大馬士革的各種美物前去拜見以利沙。到了那裡，他站在以利沙面前說：「你兒子亞蘭王便·哈達派我來問你，他的病能否痊癒？」以利沙對哈薛說：「你去告訴他，他一定會痊癒。不過，耶和華告訴我他會死。」他目不轉睛地盯著哈薛，盯得他很不安。然後，上帝的僕人哭了。哈薛問：「我主為什麼哭呢？」以利沙說：「因為我知道你會加害以色列人。你會放火燒他們的堡壘，用刀殺戮他們的壯丁，摔死他們的孩童，剖開他們的孕婦。」哈薛說：「你僕人算什麼，不過是一條狗，怎能做這樣的大事呢？」以利沙說：「耶和華告訴我，你要做亞蘭王。」哈薛辭別以利沙回去了。王問他：「以利沙對你說什麼？」他答道：「以利沙告訴我，你一定會痊癒。」第二天，哈薛拿了一床浸透水的被子，蒙在王的臉上，王窒息而死。於是哈薛篡位。

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜我什麼呢？我沒有兒子，繼承我家業的人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

希西迦將耶和華殿裡和王宮庫房裡的所有銀子都給了他，又刮下他包在耶和華殿門和門柱上的金子，一併送去。

他將他父親和自己奉獻給上帝的金銀及器皿都帶到上帝的殿裡。
