我指永生主爾之天主而誓、無一民、無一國、我主人不遣人尋爾、若云不在者、則我主人使斯國斯民發誓曰、尋爾不得、

As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is not a nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look for you. And whenever a nation or kingdom claimed you were not there, he made them swear they could not find you.

My master has sent people to look for you everywhere. There isn’t a nation or kingdom where he hasn’t sent someone to look for you. Suppose a nation or kingdom would claim you weren’t there. Then Ahab would make them give their word that they couldn’t find you. And that’s just as sure as the Lord your God is alive.

As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you. And when they would say,‘ He is not here,’ he would take an oath of the kingdom or nation, that they had not found you.

For I swear by the Lord your God that the king has searched every nation and kingdom on earth from end to end to find you. And each time he was told,‘ Elijah isn’t here,’ King Ahab forced the king of that nation to swear to the truth of his claim.

As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent someone to search for you. When they said,‘ He is not here,’ he made that kingdom or nation swear they had not found you.

住在基列的提斯比人以利亞對亞哈說：「我指着所事奉永生的耶和華－以色列的神起誓，這幾年我若不禱告，必不降露水，也不下雨。」

王起誓說：「我指着救我性命脫離一切苦難的永生的耶和華起誓。

於是以利亞去了，他遵照耶和華的話做，去住在約旦河東的基立溪旁。

於是他們拿石頭要打他，耶穌卻躲開，走出了聖殿。

你必將他們藏在你面前的隱密處，免得遭人暗算；你要隱藏他們在棚子裏，免受口舌的爭鬧。

王吩咐王的兒子耶拉篾、亞斯列的兒子西萊雅和亞伯疊的兒子示利米雅，去捉拿巴錄文士和耶利米先知；耶和華卻將他們隱藏起來。

耶和華堅立我，使我坐在父親大衛的王位上，照着他所應許的為我建立家室；現在我指着永生的耶和華起誓，亞多尼雅今日必被處死。」

亞吉叫大衛來，對他說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，你是個正直人。你隨我在軍中出入，我也很滿意。自從你投奔我到如今，我未曾看見你有甚麼過失，但是眾領袖看你不順眼。

她說：「我指着永生的耶和華－你的神起誓，我沒有餅，罈內只有一把麵，瓶裏只有一點油。看哪，我去找兩根柴，帶回家為我和我兒子做餅。我們吃了，就等死吧！」

有一個人，就是示瑪雅的兒子基列‧耶琳人烏利亞，也奉耶和華的名說預言；他說預言攻擊這城和這地，和耶利米所說的完全一樣。約雅敬王和他所有的勇士、官長聽見了烏利亞的話，王想要把他處死。烏利亞聽見就懼怕，逃往埃及去了。約雅敬王差亞革波的兒子以利拿單，帶領幾個人前往埃及。他們將烏利亞從埃及帶出來，解送到約雅敬王那裏；王用刀殺了他，把他的屍首拋在平民的墳地中。

住在至高者隱密處的，必住在全能者的蔭下。

以利亞說：「我指着所事奉永生的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我今日要讓亞哈見到我。」

惡人驕橫地追逼困苦人；願他們陷在自己所設的計謀裏。

耶和華啊，你必保護他們，你必保佑他們永遠脫離這世代的人。卑鄙的人在世人中高升時，就有惡人四處橫行。

「你起身到西頓的撒勒法去，住在那裏，看哪，我已吩咐那裏的一個寡婦供養你。」
