以利亚回答说：“我一向热心事奉万军之上帝耶和华。但以色列人背弃你的约，拆毁你的祭坛，残杀你的先知。现在只剩下我一个人，他们还要杀我。”

他说：“我为耶和华万军的神大发热心，因为以色列人背弃了你的约，拆毁了你的祭坛，用刀杀死了你的众先知，只剩下我一个人，他们还在寻索，要取去我的性命。”

他說：「我為耶和華－萬軍之神大發熱心；因為以色列人背棄了你的約，毀壞了你的壇，用刀殺了你的先知，只剩下我一個人，他們還要尋索我的命。」

以利亞回答說：「我一向熱心事奉萬軍之上帝耶和華。但以色列人背棄你的約，拆毀你的祭壇，殘殺你的先知。現在只剩下我一個人，他們還要殺我。」

他說：“我為耶和華萬軍的神大發熱心，因為以色列人背棄了你的約，拆毀了你的祭壇，用刀殺死了你的眾先知，只剩下我一個人，他們還在尋索，要取去我的性命。”

以利亞說：『我為永恆主萬軍之上帝大發妒愛熱情，因為以色列人撇棄了你的約，翻毁了你的祭壇，用刀殺死你的神言人，只剩下我一個人，他們還想法子要我的命。』

He replied,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

He replied,“ Lord God who rules over all, I’ve been very committed to you. The Israelites have turned their backs on your covenant. They have torn down your altars. They’ve put your prophets to death with their swords. I’m the only one left. And they are trying to kill me.”

He said,“ I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

Elijah replied,“ I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty. But the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars, and killed every one of your prophets. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.”

He replied,“ I have been very zealous for the LORD God of Armies, but the Israelites have abandoned your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left, and they are looking for me to take my life.”

And he said,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord, the God of armies; for the sons of Israel have abandoned Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they have sought to take my life.”

So he said,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”

And he said, I have been very jealous for Jehovah, the God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword: and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

He replied,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord God of Hosts, but the Israelites have abandoned Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left, and they are looking for me to take my life.”

And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I,[ even] I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

He answered,“ I have been absolutely loyal to the LORD, the sovereign God, even though the Israelites have abandoned the agreement they made with you, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left and now they want to take my life.”

He said,“ I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”

While Jezebel was killing off the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.) (niv)

Then Elijah said to them,“ I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets. (niv)

He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, because he was zealous for the honor of his God and made atonement for the Israelites.” (niv)

Then Elijah said to all the people,“ Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down. (niv)

God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he appealed to God against Israel:“ Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”?And what was God’s answer to him?“ I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” (niv)

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, (niv)

Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (niv)

“ Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal. (niv)

He replied,“ I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” (niv)

So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel. (niv)

You have observed the statutes of Omri and all the practices of Ahab’s house; you have followed their traditions. Therefore I will give you over to ruin and your people to derision; you will bear the scorn of the nations.” (niv)

When he saw Elijah, he said to him,“ Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” (niv)

As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is not a nation or kingdom where my master has not sent someone to look for you. And whenever a nation or kingdom claimed you were not there, he made them swear they could not find you. (niv)

Ephraim is oppressed, trampled in judgment, intent on pursuing idols. (niv)

My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. (niv)

So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say,“ May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.” (niv)

His disciples remembered that it is written:“ Zeal for your house will consume me.” (niv)

Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord.’” (niv)

Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets.He said to the king,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.’” (niv)

The faithful have been swept from the land; not one upright person remains. Everyone lies in wait to shed blood; they hunt each other with nets. (niv)

for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me. (niv)

“ In vain I punished your people; they did not respond to correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a ravenous lion. (niv)

By the word of the Lord one of the company of the prophets said to his companion,“ Strike me with your weapon,” but he refused. (niv)

The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”“ The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied. (niv)

Afterward, the prophet came to the king of Israel and said,“ Strengthen your position and see what must be done, because next spring the king of Aram will attack you again.” (niv)
