彼得却当众否认，说：“我不知道你说什么。”他出到门口，又有一个婢女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这人是和拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得再次否认，并且发誓说：“我不认识那个人。”过了一会，站在那里的人前来对他说：“你的确是他们中间的一个，因为一听你的口音就认出来了。”彼得就发咒起誓说：“我不认识那一个人。”立刻鸡就叫了。

亚玛谢对阿摩司说：“你这个先见，走吧！滚回犹大地去；在那里你可以找食，在那里你可以说预言。但不要再在伯特利说预言，因为这里是王的圣所，是王国的圣殿。”

法老听见这事，就设法要杀摩西；摩西躲避法老，就往米甸地去居住；有一天他坐在井旁。
