There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him:“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

曰、撒萊婢夏甲、適從何來、將欲何往、曰、我逃遁以避主母撒萊、

爾今何為往伊及之路、欲飲西曷之水乎、爾何為往亞述之路、欲飲伯拉大河之水乎、

耶和華天主呼亞當曰、爾何在、

約拿聞言遂起、欲逃至他施以避主、下至約帕、適遇有舟將往他施、則給以值、登舟偕往他施以避主、主使海中大風驟起、海中颶風大作、舟幾壞、

主又曰、近我有一處、爾可立於磐上、我榮光經過時、必藏爾於磐穴、以手掩爾、待我經過、

願我在曠野、得有旅邸、則我舍棄我民、離之而去、蓋彼俱為姦淫者、悉屬奸詐之黨、

逃於曠野、山嶺、巖穴、地窖、轉徙流離、若此之人居世、世實不堪也、
