There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him:“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

以利亚听见，就用外衣蒙脸，出来站在洞口。听啊，有声音向他说：“以利亚，你在这里做什么？”

对她说：“撒莱的婢女夏甲，你从哪里来？要到哪里去？”她说：“我从我的女主人撒莱面前逃出来。”

现今你为何在埃及路上喝西曷河的水呢？为何在亚述路上喝大河的水呢？

耶和华神呼唤那人，对他说：“你在哪里？”

约拿却起身，逃往他施去躲避耶和华。他下到约帕，遇见一条船要往他施去。约拿付了船费，就上船，与船上的人同往他施，为要躲避耶和华。耶和华在海上刮起大风，海就狂风大作，船几乎破裂。

耶和华说：“看哪，靠近我这里有个地方，你可以站在这磐石上。当我的荣耀经过的时候，我必将你放在磐石缝里，用我的手掌遮掩你，等我过去，

惟愿在旷野有旅客的客栈，我好离开我的百姓而去；因他们全都行奸淫，是行诡诈的一党。

这世界配不上他们，他们在旷野、山岭、山洞、地穴，飘流无定。
