即或不然，王啊！你要知道，我們決不事奉你的神，也不向你所立的金像下拜。”當時尼布甲尼撒向沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌大發烈怒，連臉色也變了，吩咐人把窰燒熱，比平常猛烈七倍。又吩咐他軍隊中幾個最精壯的士兵，把沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌綁起來，扔在烈火的窰中。於是這三個人穿著外袍、長褲、頭巾和身上其他的衣服，被綁起來，扔在烈火的窯中。由於王的命令緊急，窰又燒得非常猛烈，那些把沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌抬起來的人，都被火燄燒死了。而沙得拉、米煞和亞伯尼歌這三個人仍被綁著，落入烈火的窰中。那時尼布甲尼撒王非常驚奇，急忙起來，問他的謀臣說：“我們綁起來扔在火裡的，不是三個人嗎？”他們回答王說：“王啊！是的。”王說：“但我見有四個人，並沒有綁著，在火中走來走去，也沒有受傷，並且那第四個的樣貌好像神子。”

“你們審判的時候，不可行不義；不可偏袒窮人，也不可偏幫有權勢的人；只要按著公義審判你的鄰舍。

眾人要殺害撒迦利亞，於是照著王的命令，在耶和華殿的院子裡用石頭把他打死。

以法蓮受欺壓，被審判壓碎；因為他們樂意隨從人的命令。

你跟隨了暗利的規例和亞哈家一切所行的，順從了他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你們也必擔當我民的羞辱。

王就對侍立在他周圍的衛兵說：“你們轉過去，把耶和華的祭司殺死，因為他們與大衛攜手，又因為他們知道大衛逃跑，也不告訴我。”但王的臣僕不願下手殺害耶和華的祭司。

“不可傳播謠言，也不可與惡人攜手作假見證。不可隨眾行惡，不可在訴訟的事上隨眾說歪曲正義的話；

於是耶戶寫第二封信給他們說：“如果你們是歸從我，聽我的話的，就要把你們主人的兒子們的頭顱取下，明天大約這個時候，帶來耶斯列給我。”那時，王的七十個兒子是住在撫養他們的城中的大臣那裡。這信到達他們那裡的時候，他們就拿住王的眾子，把這七十人殺了，然後把他們的頭放在籃子裡，送到耶斯列耶戶那裡。

彼得和約翰回答：“聽從你們過於聽從神，在神面前對不對，你們自己說吧！

但是，接生婦卻敬畏神，不照著埃及王吩咐她們的去作，竟讓男孩活著。

後來他們在夢中得著指示不要回到希律那裡去，就從別的路回鄉去了。
