Ahab said to Naboth,“ Let me have your vineyard. It’s close to my palace. I want to use it for a vegetable garden. I’ll trade you a better vineyard for it. Or, if you prefer, I’ll pay you what it’s worth.”

亚哈对拿伯说：“你将你的葡萄园给我作菜园，因为是靠近我的宫；我就把更好的葡萄园换给你，或是你要银子，我就按着价值给你。”

亚哈对拿伯说：“把你的葡萄园给我作菜园，因为它靠近我的宫，我就把更好的葡萄园换给你。你若要银子，我就按着价钱给你。”

亚哈对拿伯说：“把你的葡萄园给我作菜园，因为它靠近我的宫，我就把更好的葡萄园换给你。你若要银子，我就按着价钱给你。”

一天，亚哈对拿伯说：“你的葡萄园靠近我的王宫，你把它让给我作菜园吧。我可以用更好的葡萄园来跟你交换，如果你愿意，我也可以按地价付你钱。”

亚哈对拿伯说：“把你的葡萄园让给我，我可以用作菜园，因为你的葡萄园靠近我的王宫。我要把一个更好的葡萄园与你交换。如果你喜欢，我也可以按市价给你银子。”

亞哈謂拿伯曰、爾之葡萄園、鄰於我宮、給我為圃、我易以尤佳之園、爾若欲得其值、我則予爾以金、

亞哈告拿泊曰、爾之園囿、鄰我宮闈、爾當給我為圃、或易以佳園、或予以所值、任爾擇焉。

亞哈謂拿伯曰、爾葡萄園、近我之宮、爾以之予我為蔬圃、我予爾更佳之葡萄園以易之、如爾願鬻、我則以其所值之金予爾、

Ahab said to Naboth,“ Let me have your vineyard to use for a vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or, if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth.”

And after this Ahab said to Naboth,“ Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near my house, and I will give you a better vineyard for it; or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its value in money.”

One day Ahab said to Naboth,“ Since your vineyard is so convenient to my palace, I would like to buy it to use as a vegetable garden. I will give you a better vineyard in exchange, or if you prefer, I will pay you for it.”

So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard so I can have it for a vegetable garden, since it is right next to my palace. I will give you a better vineyard in its place, or if you prefer, I will give you its value in silver.”

And Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard so that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is close beside my house, and I will give you a better vineyard in place of it; if you prefer, I will give you what it is worth in money.”

So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a vegetable garden, because it is near, next to my house; and for it I will give you a vineyard better than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”

And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house; and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it: or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

So Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard so I can have it for a vegetable garden, since it is right next to my palace. I will give you a better vineyard in its place, or if you prefer, I will give you its value in silver.”

And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it[ is] near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it;[ or], if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

Ahab said to Naboth,“ Give me your vineyard so I can make a vegetable garden out of it, for it is adjacent to my palace. I will give you an even better vineyard in its place, or if you prefer, I will pay you silver for it.”

Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”

He will take away your best fields and vineyards and olive groves. He’ll give them to his attendants.

“ Do not want to have your neighbor’s wife. Do not desire anything your neighbor owns. Do not desire to have your neighbor’s house or land, male or female servant, ox or donkey.”

You are like a fountain in a garden. You are like a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon.”

People who want to get rich are tempted. They fall into a trap. They are tripped up by wanting many foolish and harmful things. Those who live like that are dragged down by what they do. They are destroyed and die.

You will enter it and take it over. It isn’t like the land of Egypt. That’s where you came from. You planted your seeds there. You had to water them, just as you have to water a vegetable garden.

I made gardens and parks. I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.

“ Your slave belongs to you,” Abram said.“ Do with her what you think is best.” Then Sarai treated Hagar badly. So Hagar ran away from her.

But each person is tempted by their own evil desires. These desires lead them on and drag them away.When these desires are allowed to remain, they lead to sin. And when sin is allowed to remain and grow, it leads to death.

So Achish called David over to him. He said,“ You have been faithful to me. And that’s just as sure as the Lord is alive. I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. I haven’t found any fault in you. That’s been true from the day you came to me until today. But the Philistine rulers aren’t pleased to have you come along.

Then he said to them,“ Watch out! Be on your guard against wanting to have more and more things. Life is not made up of how much a person has.”

“ Do not want to have anything your neighbor owns. Do not want to have your neighbor’s house, wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey.”

“ How terrible it will be for the Babylonians! They build their kingdom with money that they gained by cheating others. They have tried to make the kingdom as secure as possible. After all, they did not want to be destroyed.They have planned to wipe out many nations. But they have brought shame on their own kingdom. So they must pay with their own lives.The stones in the walls of their homes will cry out. And the wooden beams will echo that cry.

The woman saw that the tree’s fruit was good to eat and pleasing to look at. She also saw that it would make a person wise. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her. And he ate it.

“ Jehoiakim, the only thing on your mind is to get rich by cheating others. You would even kill people who are not guilty of doing anything wrong. You would mistreat them. You would take everything they own.”

Ahaziah, the king of Judah, saw what had happened. So he tried to get away. He went up the road toward Beth Haggan. Jehu chased him. He shouted,“ Kill him too!” Jehu’s men wounded Ahaziah in his chariot. It happened on the way up to Gur near Ibleam. But Ahaziah escaped to Megiddo. And that’s where he died.

Samuel wasn’t pleased when they said,“ Give us a king to lead us.” So he prayed to the Lord.
