He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, because he followed the ways of his father and mother and of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin.

Ahaziah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He lived the way his father and mother had lived. He lived the way Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had lived. Jeroboam had caused Israel to sin.

He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

But he did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the example of his father and mother and the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had led Israel to sin.

只是從來沒有人像亞哈的；他出賣了他自己、去行永恆主所看為壞的事；王后耶洗別教唆了他，

亞哈謝走亞哈家所走的路，行永恆主所看為壞的事，像亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。

亞哈謝從撒瑪利亞王宮房頂屋子的窗戶格子裏掉下來，因而致病；於是他差遣使者，對他們說：『你們去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜：我患這病活得了活不了。』但是永恆主的使者對提斯比人以利亞說：『你起來、上去迎接撒瑪利亞王的使者，對他們說：「是不是因為以色列中沒有上帝，而你們得去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜呢？」因此永恆主這樣說：「你所上的床、你必不能從那裏下來；你必定死。」』說了這話，以利亞就走。使者回來見王，王問他們說：『你們為甚麼回來？』使者回答他說：『有一個人迎着我們而上來，對我們說：「去吧，你們回去見那差遣你們的王，對他說：永恆主這樣說：是不是因為以色列中沒有上帝，而你得差遣人去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜呢？這樣，你所上的床、你必不能從那裏下來；你必定死。」』王問他們說：『那迎着你們而上來、將這些話告訴你們的、是甚麼樣的人？』

亞哈謝也走亞哈家所走的路，因為他母親給他主謀、使他行惡。

你看，我站在門外敲門；若有人聽見我的聲音來開門，我就要進去找他，同他喫飯，他也同我喫飯。

你竟作壞事比那在你以先的更壞，去為自己立了別的神和鑄像、來惹我發怒，將我丟在背後。因此我必使災禍臨到耶羅波安的家，將以色列中屬耶羅波安的男丁、無論自主不自主、都剪滅掉，也必燒除耶羅波安的家，如同人燒除糞土、直到燒盡一樣。凡屬耶羅波安的人、死在城中的、狗必喫他；死在野外的、空中的飛鳥必喫他；因為永恆主已經說了。』」所以你要起身、往你家去；你腳一進城，你孩子就必死。以色列眾人必為他舉哀，將他埋葬；因為屬耶羅波安的人、惟有他得入墳墓，因為在耶羅波安家中、只見他對永恆主以色列的上帝、有可喜悅之處。永恆主必為自己立一個王來管理以色列；那日期他必剪滅耶羅波安的家；甚麼時候呢？現在就是了。永恆主必擊打以色列人，使他們像蘆荻在水中搖動一樣；也必將他們從永恆主賜給他們列祖這美好土地上拔出來，叫他們四散在大河那邊，因為他們立了亞舍拉神木、來惹永恆主發怒。因了耶羅波安的罪、就是他自己犯了的、又使以色列人犯了的、永恆主必將以色列人放棄了。』

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安的罪、耶羅波安使以色列人犯的那罪、約蘭卻緊跟着，總不離開。

約蘭一見耶戶、就說：『耶戶啊，平安麼？』耶戶說：『甚麼呀？你母親耶洗別的淫行和邪術這麼多、還有平安麼？』

閨女就出來，對她母親說：『我要求甚麼？』她母親說：『施洗約翰的頭。』

暗利的兒子亞哈行永恆主所看為壞的事，比他以前所有的王行的更壞。他犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪、還以為輕，竟又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別為妻子，去服事敬拜巴力；在他於撒瑪利亞所建造的巴力廟裏、他竟為巴力立起了一座祭壇。亞哈又立了亞舍拉神木；更加行惡來惹永恆主以色列之上帝的發怒，比他以前的以色列諸王更壞。

耶羅波安王就打定了主意，造了兩隻金牛犢，對眾民說：『以色列人哪，你們上耶路撒冷去已經夠了；看哪，這就是你們的神、那領你們從埃及地上來的。』他就把牛犢一隻立在伯特利，一隻安在但。這事就是犯罪，因為眾民到伯特利一隻牛犢面前去敬拜，也到遠在但地的那一隻面前去。耶羅波安造了邱壇上的殿，將不屬利未子孫範圍內的平常人立為祭司。耶羅波安定了八月十五日為節期，像在猶大的節期一樣；他自己上去、在祭壇旁獻祭；在伯特利他也這樣作，向他所造的牛犢獻祭，又將他所立為邱壇的祭司安置在伯特利。八月十五日、他心裏自定的月日、他自己上去，在他所造於伯特利的祭壇旁獻祭；他為以色列人定了節期，自己上去、在祭壇旁燻祭。
