你们要将所赶出的国民侍奉神的各地方，无论是在高山，在小山，在各青翠树下，都毁坏了；也要拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的柱像，用火焚烧他们的木偶，砍下他们雕刻的神像，并将其名从那地方除灭。你们不可照他们那样侍奉耶和华你们的神。但耶和华你们的神从你们各支派中选择何处为立他名的居所，你们就当往那里去求问，

却是所罗门为神造成殿宇。其实，至高者并不住人手所造的，就如先知所言：‘主说：天是我的座位，地是我的脚凳；你们要为我造何等的殿宇？哪里是我安息的地方呢？

“你知道我父亲大卫因四围的争战，不能为耶和华他神的名建殿，直等到耶和华使仇敌都服在他脚下。

凡以色列家中的人宰公牛，或是绵羊羔，或是山羊，不拘宰于营内营外，若未曾牵到会幕门口、耶和华的帐幕前献给耶和华为供物，流血的罪必归到那人身上。他流了血，要从民中剪除。这是为要使以色列人把他们在田野里所献的祭带到会幕门口、耶和华面前，交给祭司，献与耶和华为平安祭。祭司要把血洒在会幕门口、耶和华的坛上，把脂油焚烧，献给耶和华为馨香的祭。

百姓却仍在邱坛上献祭，只献给耶和华他们的神。

“你去告诉我仆人大卫，说耶和华如此说：‘你不可建造殿宇给我居住。自从我领以色列人出埃及，直到今日，我未曾住过殿宇，乃从这会幕到那会幕，从这帐幕到那帐幕。凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列的一个士师，就是我吩咐牧养我民的说：你为何不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’

我又要毁坏你们的邱坛，砍下你们的日像，把你们的尸首扔在你们偶像的身上；我的心也必厌恶你们。

只是神对我说：‘你不可为我的名建造殿宇；因你是战士，流了人的血。’然而，耶和华以色列的神在我父的全家拣选我作以色列的王，直到永远。因他拣选犹大为首领；在犹大支派中拣选我父家，在我父的众子里喜悦我，立我作以色列众人的王。耶和华赐我许多儿子，在我儿子中拣选所罗门坐耶和华的国位，治理以色列人。耶和华对我说：‘你儿子所罗门必建造我的殿和院宇；因为我拣选他作我的子，我也必作他的父。
