建殿是用山中凿成的石头。建殿的时候，锤子、斧子，和别样铁器的响声都没有听见。

大卫吩咐聚集住以色列地的外邦人，从其中派石匠凿石头，要建造神的殿。

因为那已经立好的根基就是耶稣基督，此外没有人能立别的根基。若有人用金、银、宝石、草木、禾秸在这根基上建造，

建造这一切所用的石头都是宝贵的，是按着尺寸凿成的，是用锯里外锯齐的；从根基直到檐石，从外头直到大院，都是如此。

所以，主耶和华如此说：“看哪，我在锡安放一块石头作为根基，是试验过的石头，是稳固根基，宝贵的房角石；信靠的人必不着急。

城墙有十二根基，根基上有羔羊十二使徒的名字。对我说话的，拿着金苇子当尺，要量那城和城门城墙。城是四方的，长宽一样。天使用苇子量那城，共有四千里，长、宽、高都是一样；又量了城墙，按着人的尺寸，就是天使的尺寸，共有一百四十四肘。墙是碧玉造的；城是精金的，如同明净的玻璃。城墙的根基是用各样宝石修饰的：第一根基是碧玉；第二是蓝宝石；第三是绿玛瑙；第四是绿宝石；第五是红玛瑙；第六是红宝石；第七是黄璧玺；第八是水苍玉；第九是红璧玺；第十是翡翠；第十一是紫玛瑙；第十二是紫晶。十二个门是十二颗珍珠，每门是一颗珍珠。城内的街道是精金，好像明透的玻璃。

因为经上说：“看哪，我把所拣选、所宝贵的房角石安放在锡安；信靠他的人必不至于羞愧。”所以，他在你们信的人就为宝贵，在那不信的人有话说：“匠人所弃的石头已作了房角的头块石头。”
