然後我問那天使說：「在燈臺右邊和左邊的那兩棵橄欖樹是什麼意思呢？」我接著第二次問他說：「那兩個流出金油的金管子旁邊的兩根橄欖樹枝是什麼意思呢？」他回答我，說：「你不知道這些是什麼意思嗎？」我說：「主啊，我不知道。」他就說：「這是兩位受膏者，侍立在全地之主的旁邊。」

那與我說話的天使回來喚醒了我，我好像從睡眠中被喚醒的人一樣。他問我：「你看見了什麼？」我回答：「我觀看，看哪，有一個燈臺，全是金的，頂上有油碗，燈臺上有七盞燈，頂上的燈各有七個燈嘴！燈臺旁邊還有兩棵橄欖樹，一棵在油碗的右邊，一棵在油碗的左邊。」

你所看見的，我右手中的七顆星，和這七座金燈臺的奧祕就是：七顆星是七個教會的使者，七座燈臺是七個教會。「你要給那在以弗所教會的使者寫信說：「那位右手握著七顆星、在七座金燈臺中間行走的，這樣說：

「你們是世界的光。建在山上的城是不能隱藏的；人點亮了油燈，也不會放在斗底下，而會放在燈臺上，它就照亮屋子裡所有的人。同樣，你們的光也應當照耀在人前，使他們看見你們的美好工作，就榮耀你們在天上的父。
