“ But if you or your descendants turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them,

“然而，如果你们及你们的子孙离弃我，不守我的诫命和律例，去供奉、祭拜别的神明，

你们或是你们的子孙，若是转去不跟从我，不遵守我赐给你们的诫命和律例，去事奉别的神，敬拜他们，

倘若你們和你們的子孫轉去不跟從我，不守我指示你們的誡命律例，去事奉敬拜別神，

倘若你們和你們的子孫轉去不跟從我，不守我擺在你們面前的誡命律例，去事奉別神，敬拜它們，

「然而，如果你們及你們的子孫離棄我，不守我的誡命和律例，去供奉、祭拜別的神明，

你們或是你們的子孫，若是轉去不跟從我，不遵守我賜給你們的誡命和律例，去事奉別的神，敬拜他們，

但是你們或你們的子孫若轉離了我，不守我的誡命、律例、就是我所擺在你們面前的，反而去服事敬拜別的神，

如爾及子孫、轉而不從我、不守我所示爾之誡命典章、往事他神、而崇拜之、

如爾及子孫、背逆乎我、不守所命之禮儀禁令、奉事他上帝、

如爾及爾子孫背逆我、不守我所賜爾之誡命律例、往而奉事崇拜他神、

“ But suppose all of you turn away from me. Or your children turn away from me. You refuse to obey the commands and rules I have given you. And you go off to serve other gods and worship them.

But if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,

“ But if you or your descendants abandon me and disobey the commands and decrees I have given you, and if you serve and worship other gods,

If you or your sons turn away from following me and do not keep my commands— my statutes that I have set before you— and if you go and serve other gods and bow in worship to them,

“ But if you or your sons indeed turn away from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have placed before you, but you go and serve other gods and worship them,

But if you or your sons at all turn from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,

But if ye shall turn away from following me, ye or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

If you or your sons turn away from following Me and do not keep My commands— My statutes that I have set before you— and if you go and serve other gods and worship them,

[ But] if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments[ and] my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

“ But if you or your sons ever turn away from me, fail to obey the regulations and rules I instructed you to keep, and decide to serve and worship other gods,

But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them;

“ And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you.Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’”

But just as all the good things the Lord your God has promised you have come to you, so he will bring on you all the evil things he has threatened, until the Lord your God has destroyed you from this good land he has given you.If you violate the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the Lord’s anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish from the good land he has given you.”

“ But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them,then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and say,‘ Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’People will answer,‘ Because they have forsaken the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them— that is why he brought all this disaster on them.’”

“ Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.

“ If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,

He went out to meet Asa and said to him,“ Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.

I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
