到了晚上，拉班卻把女兒利亞送給雅各，雅各和她同房。拉班又把自己的婢女悉帕送給女兒利亞做婢女。第二天早上，雅各才發現娶的是利亞，就對拉班說：「你對我做的是什麼事啊！我服侍你不就是為了拉結嗎？你為什麼騙我？」拉班說：「依照本地的習俗，妹妹不能比姐姐先出嫁。等這七天的婚期過了，我就把拉結也許配給你，你再替我工作七年。」雅各同意了。過了七天，拉班把女兒拉結嫁給雅各，又把自己的婢女辟拉送給拉結。

瑣拉城住了一個但支派的人，名叫瑪挪亞。他妻子不能生養，沒有孩子。

「如果一個人有兩個妻子，一個受他寵愛，一個不受他寵愛，二人都給他生了兒子，但長子是不受寵愛的妻子生的，分產業的時候，他不可廢長立幼，把長子的權利給他所愛之妻生的兒子。他必須承認他不愛之妻所生的長子的名分，分給他雙份產業，因為長子是他壯年時所生的兒子，應享有長子的權利。

耶和華看見利亞失寵，就使利亞生育，但拉結卻不生育。

亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊沒有生育，她有個婢女名叫夏甲，是埃及人。撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「耶和華不讓我生育，請你與我的婢女同房，也許我可以藉著她生子立後。」亞伯蘭同意了撒萊的話。

亞設支派中有一位八十四歲高齡的女先知名叫亞拿，是法內利的女兒，婚後七年便開始守寡，之後一直住在聖殿裡，禁食禱告，日夜事奉上帝。

拉麥娶了兩個妻子，一個叫亞大，另一個叫洗拉。
