Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.

Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come, let us go to Gilgal and there renew the kingship.”

Then Samuel said to the people,“ Come on. Let’s go to Gilgal. There we’ll agree again to have Saul as our king.”

And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt- offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace- offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come unto thee, and show thee what thou shalt do.

And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth- el, and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.

And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom Jehovah hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, Long live the king.Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before Jehovah. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

All these, being men of war, that could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.And they were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brethren had made preparation for them.
