“ After Jacob entered Egypt, they cried to the Lord for help, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

“ After Jacob’s family entered Egypt, they cried out to the Lord for help. The Lord sent Moses and Aaron. They brought your people out of Egypt. They had them make their homes in this land.

When Jacob went into Egypt, and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your fathers cried out to the Lord and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place.

“ When the Israelites were in Egypt and cried out to the Lord, he sent Moses and Aaron to rescue them from Egypt and to bring them into this land.

“ When Jacob went to Egypt, your ancestors cried out to the LORD, and he sent them Moses and Aaron, who led your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. (niv)

and said to them,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ I brought Israel up out of Egypt, and I delivered you from the power of Egypt and all the kingdoms that oppressed you.’ (niv)

Our ancestors went down into Egypt, and we lived there many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our ancestors, (niv)

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. (niv)

Then Jacob went down to Egypt, where he and our ancestors died. (niv)

Then Samuel said to the people,“ It is the Lord who appointed Moses and Aaron and brought your ancestors up out of Egypt. (niv)

That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant. (niv)

And on that very day the Lord brought the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions. (niv)

And so he brought them to the border of his holy land, to the hill country his right hand had taken.He drove out nations before them and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance; he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes. (niv)

Then Jacob left Beersheba, and Israel’s sons took their father Jacob and their children and their wives in the carts that Pharaoh had sent to transport him.So Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt, taking with them their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in Canaan.Jacob brought with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons and his daughters and granddaughters— all his offspring. (niv)

This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord— the Lord of all the earth— set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.” (niv)

And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” (niv)

We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago.With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish.It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. (niv)

It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said,“ Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.” (niv)

The Lord said to Aaron,“ Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he met Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him.Then Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say, and also about all the signs he had commanded him to perform.Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites,and Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people,and they believed. And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped. (niv)

he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for— (niv)

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them— to the Israelites.I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates— all the Hittite country— to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. (niv)
