Then Saul said to David,“ Here is my older daughter Merab; I will give her to you as a wife, only be a valiant man for me and fight the Lord’s battles.” For Saul thought,“ My hand shall not be against him, but let the hand of the Philistines be against him.”

扫罗对大卫说：“看哪，我将大女儿米拉嫁给你，只要你作我的勇士，为耶和华争战。”扫罗心里说：“我不好亲手害他，要藉非利士人的手害他。”

扫罗对大卫说：“我要把大女儿米拉嫁给你，但你要英勇作战，效忠于我，为耶和华争战。”扫罗心里想：“我不要亲自动手，我要借非利士人的手杀他。”

扫罗对大卫说：“我的大女儿米拉在这里。我要把她赐给你作妻子；只要你作我的勇士，为耶和华争战。”原来扫罗心里说：“我不好亲手害他，让非利士人害他吧。”

扫罗对大卫说：“看哪，我把我的大女儿米拉给你为妻，只要你作我的勇士，为耶和华作战。”因为扫罗想：“我的手不对付他，让非利士人的手对付他吧！”

掃羅對大衛說：「我將大女兒米拉給你為妻，只要你為我奮勇，為耶和華爭戰。」掃羅心裏說：「我不好親手害他，要藉非利士人的手害他。」

掃羅對大衛說：「看哪，我將大女兒米拉嫁給你，只要你作我的勇士，為耶和華爭戰。」掃羅心裏說：「我不好親手害他，要藉非利士人的手害他。」

掃羅對大衛說：「我要把大女兒米拉嫁給你，但你要英勇作戰，效忠於我，為耶和華爭戰。」掃羅心裡想：「我不要親自動手，我要藉非利士人的手殺他。」

掃羅對大衛說：『看吧，我的大女兒米拉、我要將她給你為妻；只要你做我的勇士，去打永恆主的仗，就好了。』掃羅心裏說：『我不好親手害他，要藉着非利士人的手去害他。』

掃羅對大衛說：「看哪，我把我的大女兒米拉給你為妻，只要你作我的勇士，為耶和華作戰。」因為掃羅想：「我的手不對付他，讓非利士人的手對付他吧！」

掃羅謂大衛曰、我以長女米拉妻爾、惟當為我奮勇、為耶和華戰、蓋掃羅意謂、我不可親手害之、願非利士人加手害之、

掃羅忌大闢、自謂與其戮之由於己手、寧藉手於非利士人以害之。故謂之曰、爾當為豪傑、緣耶和華而戰、我必以長女米臘妻爾。

掃羅謂大衛曰、我長女米拉、我以之妻爾、惟欲爾為豪傑、為主而戰、掃羅自謂、我不親手害之、乃藉手於非利士人害之、

Saul said to David,“ Here is my older daughter Merab. I will give her to you in marriage; only serve me bravely and fight the battles of the Lord.” For Saul said to himself,“ I will not raise a hand against him. Let the Philistines do that!”

Saul said to David,“ Here is my older daughter Merab. I’ll give her to you to be your wife. Just serve me bravely and fight the Lord’ s battles.” Saul said to himself,“ I won’t have to lift my hand to strike him down. The Philistines will do that!”

Then Saul said to David,“ Here is my elder daughter Merab. I will give her to you for a wife. Only be valiant for me and fight the Lord’s battles.” For Saul thought,“ Let not my hand be against him, but let the hand of the Philistines be against him.”

One day Saul said to David,“ I am ready to give you my older daughter, Merab, as your wife. But first you must prove yourself to be a real warrior by fighting the Lord’s battles.” For Saul thought,“ I’ll send him out against the Philistines and let them kill him rather than doing it myself.”

Saul told David,“ Here is my oldest daughter Merab. I’ll give her to you as a wife if you will be a warrior for me and fight the LORD’s battles.” But Saul was thinking,“ I don’t need to raise a hand against him; let the hand of the Philistines be against him.”

Then Saul said to David,“ Here is my older daughter Merab; I will give her to you as a wife. Only be valiant for me, and fight the LORD’s battles.” For Saul thought,“ Let my hand not be against him, but let the hand of the Philistines be against him.”

And Saul said to David, Behold, my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight Jehovah’s battles. For Saul said, Let not my hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.

Saul told David,“ Here is my oldest daughter Merab. I’ll give her to you as a wife, if you will be a warrior for me and fight the Lord’s battles.” But Saul was thinking,“ My hand doesn’t need to be against him; let the hand of the Philistines be against him.”

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD’S battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.

Then Saul said to David,“ Here’s my oldest daughter, Merab. I want to give her to you in marriage. Only be a brave warrior for me and fight the battles of the LORD.” For Saul thought,“ There’s no need for me to raise my hand against him. Let it be the hand of the Philistines!”

Saul said to David,“ Behold, my elder daughter Merab, I will give her to you as wife. Only be valiant for me, and fight Yahweh’s battles.” For Saul said,“ Don’t let my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be on him.”

Please forgive the offense of your slave; for the Lord will certainly make for my lord an enduring house, because my lord is fighting the battles of the Lord, and evil will not be found in you all your days.

And the men of Israel said,“ Have you seen this man who is coming up? Surely he is coming up to defy Israel. And it will be that the king will make the man who kills him wealthy with great riches, and will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel.”

Saul then said,“ This is what you shall say to David:‘ The king does not desire any dowry except a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to take vengeance on the king’s enemies.’ ” But Saul plotted to have David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

For Saul thought,“ I will give her to him so that she may become a trap for him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David,“ For a second time you may become my son in law, today.”

and that this entire assembly may know that the Lord does not save by sword or by spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will hand you over to us!”

Why have you despised the word of the Lord, by doing evil in His sight? You have struck and killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, you have taken his wife as your wife, and you have slaughtered him with the sword of the sons of Ammon.

His speech was smoother than butter, But his heart was war; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

He had written in the letter the following:“ Station Uriah on the front line of the fiercest battle and pull back from him, so that he may be struck and killed.”
