大卫对扫罗说：“我是谁，我是什么出身，我父家在以色列中是何等的家，岂敢作王的女婿呢？”

大卫对扫罗说：“我是谁，我是什么出身，我父家在以色列中算什么，岂敢作王的女婿呢？”

大卫对扫罗说：“我是谁，我是什么出身，我父家在以色列中算什么，岂敢作王的女婿呢？”

大卫说：“我算什么？我的家族在以色列那么卑微，我怎么配做王的女婿呢？”

大卫回答扫罗：“我是谁？我是什么身分？我父家在以色列人中算得什么？我怎么作王的女婿呢？”

大卫对扫罗说：“我是谁？我的出身、我父亲的家族在以色列算什么，我竟然作王的女婿！”

大衛對掃羅說：「我是誰，我是甚麼出身，我父家在以色列中是何等的家，豈敢作王的女婿呢？」

大衛對掃羅說：「我是誰，我是甚麼出身，我父家在以色列中算甚麼，豈敢作王的女婿呢？」

大衛對掃羅說：「我是誰，我是甚麼出身，我父家在以色列中算甚麼，豈敢作王的女婿呢？」

大衛說：「我算什麼？我的家族在以色列那麼卑微，我怎麼配做王的女婿呢？」

大衛回答掃羅：“我是誰？我是甚麼身分？我父家在以色列人中算得甚麼？我怎麼作王的女婿呢？”

大衛對掃羅說：『我，我是誰？我有甚麼身分？我父的家族在以色列中是甚麼樣的家？而我要做王的女婿啊？』

大衛對掃羅說：「我是誰？我的出身、我父親的家族在以色列算什麼，我竟然作王的女婿！」

大衛曰、我何人斯、我之戚族、及我父家、於以色列中為何、致我為王之壻乎、

對曰、我何人斯、我之所出者甚微、我父之家、在以色列族中、其名不顯、豈可為王之壻。

大衛謂掃羅曰、我何人斯、我身分為何、我父之家在以色列族為何、豈可為王之壻乎、

But David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and what is my family or my clan in Israel, that I should become the king’s son- in- law?”

But David said to Saul,“ Who am I? Is anyone in my whole family that important in Israel? Am I worthy to become the king’s son- in- law?”

And David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and who are my relatives, my father’s clan in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?”

“ Who am I, and what is my family in Israel that I should be the king’s son in law?” David exclaimed.“ My father’s family is nothing!”

Then David responded,“ Who am I, and what is my family or my father’s clan in Israel that I should become the king’s son-in-law?”

But David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and who is my family, or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be the king’s son in law?”

So David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and what is my life or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?”

And David said unto Saul, Who am I, and what is my life, or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son- in- law to the king?

Then David responded,“ Who am I, and what is my family or my father’s clan in Israel that I should become the king’s son-in-law?”

And David said unto Saul, Who[ am] I? and what[ is] my life,[ or] my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son in law to the king?

David said to Saul,“ Who am I? Who are my relatives or the clan of my father in Israel that I should become the king’s son-in-law?”

David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and what is my life, or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son- in- law to the king?”

Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said:“ Who am I, Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? (niv)

They repeated these words to David. But David said,“ Do you think it is a small matter to become the king’s son-in-law? I’m only a poor man and little known.” (niv)

Saul answered,“ But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?” (niv)

At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She asked him,“ Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me— a foreigner?” (niv)

But Moses said to God,“ Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” (niv)

“ Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said,“ I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” (niv)

Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor. (niv)

Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor. (niv)
